Fun game, very generic though
The gameplay is serviceable, with a very fun combat system where you can combine your spells and weapons to make various powerful combos and keep the momentum by brutalizing your foes. The game certainly does that well. However, its story is nothing to write home about. The setting seems generic, the enemies are per definition generic, the NPCs are generic, the weapons and armors seem generic, everything is given to you at the very start and this honestly feels like I'm playing a huge 2010's MMO solo. Get it on a sale and try to decide for yourself if it is worth it, but it does certainly lacks charm and a bit of uniqueness.

I love this game
The game is great. I had a free trial when Mass Effect 3 came out and I thought it was boring because I HAD to play a certain amount of time or something to get the Chakram Launcher. As time passed I needed a fun action RPG. Saw some screenshots when Re-Reckoning came out and started reading some reviews and watching some videos. Changed my mind and bought it. It is damn fun. you can build your character into pretty much what you'd like (if you like fighter, rouge, mage or hybrid of those) and the game got a lot of enemies and an interesting world with a lot of interesting lore. Good: fun gameplay (if you like hack n' slash RPG), nice graphics (the design), fast paced combat! Bad: not great graphics by todays standards, a game-breaking bug in one of the Faction Quests (final quest for theives guild. To avoid it, don't speak with the woman, just end conversation, or you'll be teleported into a room without any escape). I am hooked on the game and I lament tthey do not make a sequel.

Bad performance on a meh game.
Kingdoms of Amalur is okay as 'AA' open world RPGs go. There's a lot going for it and a lot going against it too. Even when this came out a lot of its mechanics were played out or had been better refined in other games. Still, there are things that make it worthwhile if it's your kind of game. The performance issues in the remaster are abysmal. Hardly any bug fixes over the original and in fact there are new bugs here. The overall performance is rough but even worse is the frame drops that can happen in places that make the game unplayable. I can't tell you how many times I've messed up the chest curse dispelling mini-game because the game dropped so many frames that by the time I could see again, it was over. This is a *really* bad remaster. Also, if you decide to play this anyway do not trust the auto-saves. I don't know what triggers them but you can lose hours of progress if you don't manually save often enough.
