A Wasted Day
The game itself seems like it could be fun. However, for me, it's more or less broken. I've had one ctd. I've had two campaigns get stuck on the exploration screen. It gets bugged out and I can't leave the screen, so I have to crash the game. All campaigns won't restore any saved games. It has quite a bit of meat to it, I think. Unfortunately I can't get to it, since it is more or less entirely unusable to me.

Hardware compatibility
KoDP is a great game, and I am keep to play it again. However, I can't get it to run on ASUS core i7 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium edition (64 bit). I have Windows to Basic Mode (instead of Aero), which got rid of the color conflicts, and I set the font size to small. All this got me to the start up screen, and then the game (and the whole PC) will hang. Have to pull the battery to reboot. If anyone has a fix for this, please let me know! I am assuming that GOG downloads and installs the game in the correct directories to run.

ONE STAR FOR INSTANT CRASH
Before submitting this non-review I made sure that my OS was not one of the listed compatible ones, that none of my drivers were up-to-date, that my box only has 128k ram, that many many applications are running in the background, and totally ignored all of the fixes suggested in the forum... or maybe not. GOG needs to get its act together on this one. When I see 1 or 2 complaints I figure it's either not paying attention or weird incompatibility. When I see a bunch, something is up with the game. Yes, the money is negligible but the more important thing is reputation. My buddy refuses to buy anything from GOG after being burnt twice.
