Kerbal Space Program: Making History

A DLC for a great game like KSP is poised to let you down. And it did. I like the extra possiblities to make your own missions and to play missions made by others, but the big idea i had in my mind, that this would be added to the career mode, that currently has no goal. It would have been great to have predetermined missions in career mode that helps you evolve and unlocks new science. Want to have spacesuits? test the first in real space. Want docking ports? go ahead and test them before you can use them But no, none of this unfortunally. KSP is great and to be honest, i would buy it again. That has nothing to do with this DLC, but with Squad and my effort to support them. They made a great game but a bad DLC. And to make it worse, i suspect this will split the modding community for quite a period of time, where some of them will not update there mods anymore due to the shallow DLC and new EULA.

Initially, I thought this expansion was ok, it adds missions, which I'm not really interested in and a few parts. It turns out that the parts that it adds are parts that I use to design so many rockets. There are engine plates, that let you have between 1 and 9 smaller engines attached to a much larger tank. There are adapters that allow conversion from one size of tank to another, but they're filled with fuel. There are more ways to protect your vulnerable parts, such as larger fairings and small, explosive bays. There are also more structural parts, but I don't tend to use those and re-entry modules which comes with ablator, but no control wheel. I can't recommend this at full price, there are mods that do many things that I'm happy with, but I do recommend it in a sale with a good discount

It's not worth the money. Even discounted. If they ever give it away for free, sure, give it a try. That is the only time I could recommend acquiring this DLC. The missions are tedious and generally unrewarding. I don't seem to be able to save in the middle if I have an actual life and have to step away to go do something else, and the content is literally the worst parts of Career Mode. But on steroids. Seriously. Load up Science Mode. Download some mods, and actually have some fun with this game. I genuinely regret even spending the money to purchase this, since it seems to have utterly no impact on the KSP experience I want to have.
