Great game so far!
Karate Survivors is essentially Vampire Survivors with a Jackie Chan movie like theme but calling it simply that would undermine the "more advanced" gameplay tactics underneath (If Vampire felt too easy) despite the fact you're main control is still just moving around with the joystick. Attacks in Karate Survivors are done in a combo-like fashion. You start out with one attack but you can unlock more attacks to add to your repertoire as you level up by collecting cash and you can choose where to place those attacks in your combo bar. If you put the correct attack colors (and later on attack numbers) side by side you get damage bonuses and effect bonuses. Your character also unlocks special stunts that are straight out of a kung-fu action flick the more you play the game. Timing and spacing at least from what I've played so far are, in my opinon, feel far more important in Karate Survivors than Vampire Survivors. Much like Vampire there are stat upgrades and unlockables after each run. I also enjoy all the little objectives they throw at you in Karate like defend the area for a certain amount of time (hardpoint) and collecting various items throughout the level. If you're able to survive the a certain amount of time you'll face off against a boss character that's unique for each area. I'm not sure if after three hours in Karate Survivors will have the scope of Vampire Survivors with it's constant unlockables and secrets but it's incredibly fun for a great price and with additional gameplay enhancements throughout it's worth the price if you're looking for another game in the genre that Vampire Hunters popularized. Even if you never played Vampire Survivors and love kung-fu films definitely give this a try!
