Underrated cult classic.
Jade Empire released released during a time when Bioware released banger after banger! Play this and appreciate it for what it is, there's not really been many games that have such a unique premise both in gameplay and setting. I highly recommend you give it a chance

Fun game, worth a play through
Jade Empire is a good time. More action oriented than some other old Bioware games. Fun lore and a decent overall story. If you like KOTOR style game it is worth your time.

Unique BioWarean RPG
Truly a unique BioWare RPG that hasn't been replicated. The pseudo-Chinese milieu, serviceable kung-fu magic combat and great soundtrack will make you complete this every few years for the rest of your life whenever you're not replaying KOTOR.

Successful proof of concept
Bioware was crowned king of RPGs for their work on Forgotten Realms (a D&D offshoot) and then with KotOR, a Star Wars game. Bioware needed to stretch their wings, escape other companies versions of Good and Evil and Lawful and Chaotic and Light and Dark. They needed to build their own world, with their own rules. They succeeded, and did a good job. I had this on X-Box, and gladly picked it up again. Definitely worth the money. However, it is obvious that this was a warm up for Mass Effect.
