Go in blind! (Spoiler-free review)

Great atmosphere made more fun by the constant mystery of 'what in the heck is actually going on here?' I love card battler games, and while the depth here is not even close to something like Slay the Spire, it's a total blast to play and figure out. Super approachable for total newbies to the genre, and a ton of fun when your deck really starts clicking. I was nervous the game would be too scary (I hate horror movies, for example) -- totally misplaced worry. While the atmosphere might be creepy, there are no jumpscares or cheap gimmicks to freak you out. The ending... well, without spoiling anything, it caught me off guard! Enough reading: just get the game, even at full price. You'll get your money's worth and have a memorable experience.

NIce game

Card game part is too easy and a lot of cards are easily exploited so after a few runs you can always win. I have expected something similar to Slay the Spire but it way more limited. Adventure/puzzle part of the game is better. Over all it is nice game for a few hours. But I am not persistent player so I probably missed a lot of side puzzles.

GOTY 2021

In my opinion, the best game of 2021. Many time when we talk about inmersion in videogames we meant that you can feel involve by the world of that game, getting into, but Inscryption is that game wich brings its own world to yours. Also is that kind of game you enjoy as more as less you know.

Unique and weird gem of a deckbuilder

Everybody is correct, this game is better played if you know very little about it. Having said that, what you need to know without spoiling anything is that the main gameplay here is deckbuilding and it is done great, a lot of elements and surprises keep it interesting, challenging and fun. Then there is a whole lot more, simply keep in mind the game has a lot under its sleeve. It keeps it wildly interesting and immersive, it is just so good. I give it 4 instead of 5 stars because I found the card battles mostly easy, which is not a big deal because I had a great time with Inscryption even with that. Totally recommended game, great experience and fun deckbuilding.

Great Experience, but

Inscryption is one of theses games that looked made for me. I'm a card games nerd, handrawed multiple through the years, i like odd eeries and disturbing stories and this game is hitting both spot very well. As a card game, it's a good one. It's easy to pickup, rewards playing well, punishes your mistakes and you can run quite a lot of different viable strategies. As a rogue-like, it's pretty entertaining but, saying this game is a rogue-like isn't very fair. As a story, it's fair, it's doing its job and i didn't had much issue with what was happening However this game have 1 major issue. It have 1 problem that kinda ruined it. The problem is the TERRIBLE movies sections. It was, like, awful, oh god. I was cringing so hard everytime Luke was talking, i felt so deposessed from the story and game i was enjoying. It's like having a great time watching a cool movie and then someone sit next to you and call a friend to make loud comments about the movie. I'm glad you can skip all of theses parts fairly quickly, because oh god i didn't cared about this character at all.
