HORIZON ZERO DAWN = HORIZON ZERO SLEEP!!
Firstly, thank you to Sony & GOG for restoring my faith in re-made for PC titles. My previous experience has been very mixed - ranging from Grr to downright unplayable. Not so with this one! It is superb, a little long on the load out due to the rig I'm running (1050 GPU) it is slow to build out shaders and fine tune the graphics - the first time. Once done, can't stress this enough let it run the configuration fully and then fine tune for your rig! Once done this has beauty and cinematic scope and that's just the game play. There is something refreshing and important with the choice of heroine. Vulnerable, and hard as rock all at once. I loved the self-talk and reactions. Game play - yes is grindy and a lot of fetch and build, but the overarching story keeps you coming back I've completed this and I can only remember 3 Games that have made me want to go back in and do it again straight away. The Witcher 3, ACBF, and now Horizon Zero Dawn. Thank you from a very old campaigner!!!!!!

Super enjoyable action - rpg mixture.
This game is a beautiful, action - packed RPG with great graphics, very good and fluid animations, very good voice acting, engaging and demanding combat system, streamlined to the point it's a pure pleasure to play it (RDR2, watch and learn!). The story is its stropngest point: dark secrets, logical outcomes, well - written and designed in a great way, it grabbed me from start and held me until credits rolled, and a bit beyond that too ;-) This game also seems very well optimised for a PC, which is not always the case with ports. I played on Asus G14 2020, Ryen 9 4900HS, RTX 2060 max-q and 16 gb RAM (DC) with max settings and it was extremely fluid even when the entire screen was covered in flames and smoke from multiple enemies. So great job at this front too. Cons: It's lighter on RPG side, meaning the story is linear and your choices don't affect the outcome at all. The NPCs haven't grabbed me either. And there is the Shader Optimalisation, which takes about 5 minutes and it was pissing me off when I didn't know I can just skip this process altogether for a slightly longer load times (which are rare in this game anyways). So really, cons here very few and far between. Despite all those minor cons, I still rate it a 10/10. This is my 3rd favourite RPG of all times, and since I'm playing RPGs for over 20 years now, it's saying something. It's right up there with Mass Effect saga and The Witcher 3 for me. If you like RPGs and your PC can handle it, don't even think about it, just get it.

Even better
I owned this game on the PS4 pro, it's an open world that's not stuffed with activities. I loved the story and gameplay. Sure, the game had (and still has) some technical issues, like some invisible walls and sometimes very strange behaviour when it comes to lights (you can activate and deactivate sunlight or spotlights by stepping forward and back in certain places) and if you are used to games like Assassin's creed you have a hard time to comprehend why you can't climb in certain places. Climbing works completely with hotspots here. The story is good and compared to other games the text messages you find really add to understand what it was like for the persons involved. The main story talks about the big guys in charge, while the messages mostly are from people who suffered the consequences. So sure, I had to buy this game and I finally came to play it again on the PC and ... it's even better with mouse and keyboard than with gamepad, due to the higher precision. Also the game runs in high fps, currently I play in 4k with DLSS and except the one time after a driver crash I never had any fps drop. Also the short loading times (on a PS4 without SSD it could easily take one and a half minute to get to Meridian) add to the comfort. One could argue that in such a "early" society people on the one side are religious fanatics, but on the other side are very politically correct by modern standards when it comes to gender roles. In a society like this the main focus would be to get as many children that they can possibly feed. You just have to roll with it. All in all ... great game.

Epic story
I don't have it yet on PC but I have played it and dlc through on PS4. I got it because of robots, post-apocalyptic world, open world and it has a story. Found out that it doesn't just tell Aloy's story but along the way you get to explore and find out note by note what happened to the world before. And best thing for me was that as an open world, game will let you explore freely. - After you get through the tutorial. Also by wandering around you'll find some of the missions and well... there few hidden things that can recommend to find out. Tutorial part is quite neatly done and used part of Aloy's past, in her childhood. It helps to get to know how she came to be. Some characters that you'll meet are unique to say the least. Open world you get to explore is pretty huge and it has rather smooth trancitions between different terrains with their unique weather conditions as well as there will be some of the machines specified to certain areas. Cinematics are very long and you'll do yourself a favor to grab some snacks and enjoy the movie parts. Combat in this game.. there is plenty of that and hunting too. In this game you it's sealth, tactics and traps before. Sure you get to find big guns... attached on biggerst robots and you'll only get your hands on those if you manage to hunt those big machines down. Still they are temporary and heavy to handle. There just was something extremely satisfying to be able to take down huge thunderjaws with traps and bows. As well as taming one. Also there are few robots that not only can be tamed but also ride on to get to different locations faster. Sure you use fasttravel after unlocking campfires but that world is too pretty on any time of the gameworld's day. Also views from the Longnecks are worth of that climbing.
