Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Hellblade was very exciting to play. (The first game in years, that i bought not in a sale) Interisting character and level design. It is actually so good, that i walked most of the time. The sound and music design is the best i have heared so far, and im playing games since 30 years now. The Combatsystem is a one of kind. So far i thought that the Arkham games had the best combat mechanics, but Hellblade changed my mind. True you dont have the complexity of the Arkham games, but instead you have a very very dynamic and fast paste combatsystem. Evading and positioning are the key. That alone wouldnt be enough to change my mind. Hellblade really shines with its animations in combat. Every hit of an enemy gives you facialexpression on senua and she tumbles. Enemys react on blows very firm. Its hard to describe, but it has something in common with the souls games, where your own skills make you better. Even after playing for 6 hours i discovert new fighting technics like rushing in and making a leap, right in the face of the enemy. Some complained about too few enemy variation. Yeah you got like 10 diffrent enemy types, but every one needs a diffrent tactic. As the game progresses further the enemy types shuffle and you have to decide, which one to attack first, while evading the others. Further more the game has an interesting auto difficulty option. In short the Combat system is extremly satisfying. Fighting is only one small puzzlestone of the whole game. The main part is discovering and story, which is actually very very intristing. Have fun with this one of kind and awesome game. Thank you Ninja Theory for this great experince.

This is game something else! I've never played another game like this before - it is definately one of the most original games that I've played for the last few years and adding mental health into the game definately added to it and made it more interesting. Though if I were to give the developers any recommendations or improvements, I would say that this game needs to have more enemy variety. It got somewhat dull at points killing the same thing over and over again, but sometimes with different skins. The bosses were great however! With that said it may not be something that you play again after you complete the game, but you may think about the game from time to time. I definately won't forget this game! Overall, I'm glad I purchased this game when it came out and I would get it again in a heartbeat!

It felt like playing a work of art, not a video game. Truly amazing. I loved the beautiful graphics, the rich tapestry of Norse mythology, and the absolutely terrifying depictions of Senua's "Darkness". The voices were particularly amazing - at times, they were welcome company; at others, they were downright terrifying. They also gave me bad advice, good advice, comforted me, mocked me. Truly amazing. I've never played anything like it. I would recommend this game to anyone. 10/10

Not much to say, this game is incredible. It has a moving and outstanding story, inside a beautifully crafted world shown through incredible graphics with the most expressive character I've ever seen in a videogame. The combat is actually adrenaline rushing but is not the main point of the game at all. Play this game expecting a journey with puzzles and combat in between, the main star here though is the character.

A amazing journey and deep and heartfelt story. It very successfully makes you feel invested and immersed in Senua's Mind. Don't have much to criticise about the game, it plays well and as a good balance of combat and noncombat and it very good at transferring the Senua's moods, fears and panic as well as the redemption and relief Combat is very well paced, and the perma-death is very effective method to incite fear and encourages you to move forward, but not be reckless Puzzles are very well designed and intuitive enough to not cause frustration. Boss fights, felt strong and overwhelming and give a good sense of accomplishment every time you slay them. The Theme of Psychosis and the game mechanics around it are very well implemented and help immersion On a Final and Personal Note, this game provided a good source of inspiration and research both on Mental Wealth but in Norse Mythology
