Basically in this game whoever has more cards in the last round wins. The entire game, all combos and anything whatsoever revolves around trying to have a bigger hand in the final round. Its all a facade and I spent real life money to look pretty in this game. Spend your money on full games and not cosmetics. Better yet, spend money on REAL LIFE and go camping, play cards around a real fire with real people. The end.
I have been playing since beta and the game has evolved alot since then. Some would argue the game have evolved in the wrong direction while some argue it is going in the right direction. For me, this is the best TCG out there and i always come back to Gwent even though I try to play other TCG titles. Keep in mind that I am a big Witcher and cdpr fan so that might influence my 5 star review.. but it is free and if you are one of those people who are thinking about downloading the game and trying it out i strongly recommend you to do so and try a few games. If you won't enjoy the game atleast there is the epic music that I am sure you will enjoy ;)

i played since the beta and LOVED IT ,but after homecoming i kind of love it and hate it ,its fun but it requires a lot of patience , card abilities are complicated sometimes i dont understand what is happening in the game.I don't want to say this but it's a Pay-To-Win game , there are cards so overpowered and the ones u usually get are weak or needs A LOT of requirement to work in game and make a difference.
Before ,everyone could play the game and love it , but now ..........it's really difficult for new players to learn how to play (tried to teach my friend with little success) , the monetization its bad the prices are expensive and are required to get new cards
I love CDPR games but this one it is hard to believe that is a CDPR game

LOVED THE BETA ,I MISS THE BETA
Oh man! Just as I was really getting into Gwent Beta, CDPR changed everything. Differences between Gwent: Homecoming and Gwent Beta are as drastic, as those between Beta and The Witcher 3's version of Gwent. It's a completly new game. And for every change that I could get behind, there's one that ruins the fun for me.
Now, I want you to take everything I say with a grain of salt. As I mentioned before - I really liked the previous version of Gwent, so forcing me to learn all the cards again has irked me a bit. Perhaps new players will have a different experience.
That being said - boy, do some of the changes suck. Now, I'm the first one to admit, that scaling down the number of rows and making them matter was a good thing. But the new look of battlegrounds lacks any elegance of the previous iterations of Gwent. It looks muddy and cheap, like a mobile game. I dislike the new mechanics, with the emphasis on charges. On one hand abilities seem to be less innovative, on the other - keeping track of them is just so tedious. Of course I haven't discovered all the synergies yet, but for some reason those that I know just don't work for me. Oh, and one more thing. How the heck did someone manage to screw up the new ranking systems? It used to be crystal clear, now it's just confusing. And those are just a few gripes that I have with Gwent: Homecoming.
To sum up - Gwent needed evolution, but it got a revolution. The game I liked is gone, the game we got in return isn't bad, but just doesn't do it for me. I currently sit on over 50 thousand pieces of cards that I could use to craft new ones and 1500 gold that I could buy barrels with, but I just don't see the point. In fact Homecoming made me second guess my previous willingness to buy Thronebreaker. After the last two days I'm just a bit tired of Gwent. So, I'm probably going to take a break for a couple of months and then give the game another chance. Perhaps it will become something I could enjoy again.
Beta Gwent was the shizznit. Crazy tutoring and cool interaction chaining effects. Stuff that with RL cardgames is almost undoable. This is the big benefit of digital cardgames.
I'll keep it short. I don't enjoy Gwent Homecoming. I got many many many many scraps however, when i get to the mainscreen, i enjoy the music for a little bit and leave.
I check aretusa Meta snapshot and see decks that don't attract or interest me in the slightest bit. The game feels like a boring point game (which is the essence of both this game and Beta gwent but the execution is nearly the opposite)
I am a big supporter but this is my way of letting CDPR (the best developper ever) to know that their current build stinks and doesn't appeal to many.
I checked my achievements and saw that my achievement to play a bronze and gold card in a game was a 'rare' achievement tells me enough. For the people that don't know, you start with those in starter decks for free. This means that it was basically rare to play the game at all since most people (over 90% of the playerbase) Had not even finished 1 single match.
