Grim Dawn takes the ARPG throne

This is currently the best ARPG that I know. Well paced, good atmosphere and most importantly: it gives you full control how to develop your character. Interesting classes and well balanced skill trees that allow for different development paths within one class. The constellation devotion bonuses add another layer of complexity. In comparison games where you have no control over the character progression and everything is only decided by your equipment are boring. (Diablo 3, Victor Vran, ...) Does that mean that one can take 'wrong' decisions and get a sub-optimal character? Yes, but skill-points and devotion points can be re-skilled if you notice it doesn't work. For a price of course, but money is easy to come by in this game. Summary: Grim Dawn takes the RPG part of ARPG serious. It takes some learning, but is very rewarding. I liked Titan Quest and the Torchlights, but Grim Dawn is more fun than both!

AMAZING GAME

WOW... The story is alright, it's what you'd expect, but with this universes own spin more or less. But the customization and replayability is astounding. 36 DIFFERENT CLASS COMBINATIONS!!! Tons of items... It's awesome. I hope there is a lot more to come. I have been scouring every part of the map so far and on my first character I have 42 hours in the game so far and I just started the DLC. Not only is there 36 different class combinations (including single classes), but every class has different abilites that you can use so your playthrough with the same class can have like 2+ different builds. The game looks really good and it's a lot of fun. It's a little overwhelming how much replayability there is. Definitely worth your money, DLC included. Really look forward to more contect. Thank you CRATE ENTERTAINMENT.

One of the best ARPGs ever made

The best offline ARPG ever made. If you like Diablo, Path of Exile, Titan Quest, this will probably become one of your favorite games.

Step towards perfection

Having played Titan Quest Anniversary and Ragnarok before Grim Dawn, we were already hooked up to the game mechanics and play, and enjoyed every bit of the road. I admit, when I first started Grim Dawn, I had a feeling the world is dull, dark, crowded, but the feeling passed after short while. Soon I started to realize the improvement over Titan Quest (which still we love), advances in level design and depth of the story. Grim Dawn truly is a masterpiece, best aRPG I've played and besides Titan Quest, nothing really comes close. If you've already finished the original game, I heartly recommend getting Ashes of Malmouth, which is a superb expansion to the game.

Outstanding, with a few MINOR negatives.

Picked up on sale about 2 weeks ago (and knowing what I know now, I'd pay full price!) and I have to say... I'm thoroughly impressed! Admittedly, the last game of this style I've tried out was Sacred 2, and before that, the first Torchlight game, and, Sacred 2 didn't grab me, and while Torchlight was a TON of fun, I found myself getting bored after about a hour or two into a session, as everything kind of felt the same. Grim Dawn, however...the different areas all feel very unique, LOOT is plentiful, and the character development is fantastic. The lore is GREAT as well. Far more deep than I'd usually give this style a game credit for. I started my first game here on normal difficulty, and I did find it FAR too easy. Hit the veteran button and definitely added a level of challenge that I'm VERY pleased with. Positives Great visuals -EXCELLENT character development with the dual class system and devotion system -LOOT, LOOT and more LOOT. -The ability to re-spec your character for little cost. -Story and lore are GREAT -NO hand holding! Quests and bounties give you a general area to check out, other than that, you're completely on your own! Could take you 5 minutes to find your mark, could take you an hour! I love that! -Multiple factions and rewards from said factions! Negatives -Maybe it's my system (although I FAR exceed the minimum specs (AMD FX 8320, 8gb DDR3 ram, Radeon R7 260) but my FPS ranges from 60 fps (I have old monitors so I HAVE TO Vsync) all the way down to 20... (and this is with ALL settings on medium, no anti-aliasing or the like) and when I'm transferring things into my storage box (and this is the ONLY place this happens) it will take 4-5 seconds to register a mouse click to transfer it sometimes. I still give this a 5 star rating...why? because the technical issues could very well be the config of my system, won't blame that on the developers or game itself until I upgrade my system. Everything else is EXCELLENT!
