Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within

The best thing about Gabriel Knght 2 is that it takes place in Munich (and other Bavarian locations). Back in 95 it totally freaked me out to see my hometown in a computer game.

Great acting. Great story. It stands out as my favorite adventure game of all time.

Having researched The Beast Within previously, I was excited and interested to play a fully FMV game. Although i'd played some games throughout the 90s, somehow the FMV craze had passed me by. I looked into both this and Sanitarium, and snapped up The Beast Within as soon as it was released. The GK chapters are the most interesting and enjoyable, the Gracie chapters, especially her second one, feel a little laboured but they are vital to the storyline. Having recently played a lot more adventure games, GK2 is defintiely one of my favourites now. So, an exciting, fairly long and incredibly enjoyable game, for only $5.99. Grab it..now!

This was the first GK mystery for me and it kept me to my computer for days.. I had allready played Phantasmagoria and I was surprised with the depth this game had. Challanging puzzles, good character development and a fascinating story, with additional eerie music and some laughs as well.. In my opinion this is one of the best FMV games ever produces. A must have for any adventure game fan.
