amazing. we need offline skimrish back..
even if its single player offline. i loved playing the local skimrish as soviets :) also we need a rematered or FF3! :D

Linux Review
Runs perfectly in Wine, no "winetricks", tweaks or adjustments needed. Make a prefix, install and play at 60FPS with smooth controls. I played this when it was originally released on PS2 back in the day. Visually it has aged quite poorly due to technical limitations of the time - maps are tiny, textures are blurry and you'll see NPC models repeating themselves quite a lot. It was that awkward period where 3D was improving, but the hardware wasn't *quite* there yet. If you look past the dated visuals, the gameplay unfortunately has aged equally badly: - Your character automatically reloads his weapon a few seconds after you've stopped shooting -- and it's always at the worst possible time. I have no idea why this is even a thing. Why couldn't they have just used a reload key like every other shooter? - The difficulty settings only make the enemies into bullet sponges and deal more damage to you. That's it. - Your character has terrible accuracy firing from the hip and while aiming, but the AI doesn't seem to have this problem. - The FOV is incredibly tight, especially when aiming. The camera is often way too close, which is exponentially worse on indoor maps/missions. - Aiming offers zero accuracy bonus whatsoever. The low FOV actually makes it arguably worse than hip-firing as enemies seem way too close. - The fun multiplayer mode from the console versions is not present in the PC port. That's just off the top of my head, but GoG reviews only have a 2,000 character limit. This game is absolutely not worth the outrageous $14.99 USD asking price unless you have a really good pair of nostalgia goggles to play it with. Jesper Kyd's soundtrack is great and still holds up today, but the rest of this game is forgettable.

For some reason this game is detecting my XINPUT controller
But only the LT and RT, which open the inventory. This means I cannot use a keyboard mapper (which is, long story short, the only way I can play anything right now) I attempted to contact support, the robot made me fill submit a DxDiag report (which, by the way, is a .txt file and their robot does not accept .txt files, only .docx, .pdf, .jpg and literally anything except .txt) After spending 15 minutes answering the questions, the robot asks "did you install via GOG galaxy"? No, of course not, if I wanted a platform I'd buy it on Steam. I come to GOG for the offline backup installers. "Sorry, couldn't create your ticket" So now I'm getting a refund Game looks fun though, guess I'll just have to pick up the PS2 version somewhere

Very bad controls
For whatever reason, this console game PC port never had gamepad support. The game's controls are terrible on mouse and keyboard. Particularly moving and shooting. This version is pretty much useless to me. Better off getting the PS2 version. But I can't give it one star because if you might get over it, and it does atleast function. I only saw one graphical error on rare occasions.

A bit too short, but still pretty enjoyable childhood classic. For fans of Red Dawn, third-person tactical shooters and republicans.
