Classical game
When I was a high school student, I play this game first time. This game really amazed me. But it have no discount this summer sales.

DESCENT like game but brights of its own
Just bought here the remaster, didn´t played it yet and I am not sure if it will be just make up, or a deeper remake. (Doesn´t look better than Turok 1&2 remasters) But beyond this I can assure for the many hours I played the original that it was Descent with much better Graphics (N64 was a beast that time), that had tons of sense of humor, that multiplayer was great, the campaign was really good with a sweet level design, both visually and in terms of gameplay. I found myself remembering many of the voices of the computer in your "pod", depending which of the crazy characters and their ships you choose. Sweet old almost Forgotten but still Forsaken game.

I'm having a difficult time understanding why this exists. Forsaken was a marginally fun game, back when it came out but it didn't have a vast amount of relevance then, and has virtually none now. It's a mostly mediocre Descent-clone with an emphasis on racing and it does virtually nothing that hasn't been done better by countless other games. As for being "remastered," I suppose it does run at a higher resolution than it did previously...but that's about it. Sure, they've added a few "modern" settings to it but even if you crank everything up to the max, you'll still be looking at a bunch of blurry textures and extremely low-poly models. It really doesn't look much better than I remember it looking when it was new. I imagine that anyone with a specific nostalgia for this game will enjoy spending a few minutes revisiting it with a few less jaggies, but I doubt it's going to win over anyone experiencing it for the first time. A proper remake of Forsaken could have been very cool, but this... This just doesn't have much point.

Bad planning and no respect
My time with this game can be quickly summarized. This game feels incredibly undercooked and badly planned and the devs clearly had no respect for the originals. When going through the dialogue options the initial dialogue plays again and again. "Come in, but don't touch anything." Then you select a dialogue option, the NPC answers and then he says the initial line again. It feels like a early access game in it's alpha. The Tutorial is laborious and ended with a lore dump that is immediately repeated after jumping into the game. The difficulty curve of the enemies is weird. The first enemies you encoutner are stronger then the enemies in the second mission. The writing clearly has not seen a second draft and I would be pretty surprised if one of the Devs actually played the originals let alone red the book. The best part of the game is the movement. It feels more acurate to what it would be than the original games so there is at least that. If you want to do yourself a favour. Play the original 2 games and read the book. Skip this one and if you want a game like this just better go play Everspace.
