A fun racing game!
This game hadn't grabbed me before, but now that I played it on PC, I kept playing it non-stop, cool races (although difficult), incredible physics, good soundtrack and tuning system, FlatOut is definitely a great game, I recommend it!

Gold classic
I remember playing this game for a long time as a child, which was only available for a limited time. Now I can anytime.

Decent but controls are a mess
Flatout is a good game with good gameplay and decent graphics for the time of release, however sadly the controls hugely let it down and have been very badly implemented for PC gameplay. The keyboard layout is obtuse, whilst also gamepad madding is limited for any type of xb360 style controller, which means you will end up having to use both keyboard and gamepad to play this game fully featured. Sadly, this is an issue which pops up in older games and in the case of this game definitely spoils the immersion and fun of the gameplay, very difficult to recommend when games such as Wreckfest exist today and are easy to jump into and play on modern devices.

Great childhood game
This is one of the game I used to play as a kid, and I remember having a lot of fun. After years of not touching the game, I see that I can buy it on gog, so I gave it a try, and oh boy, now that I had more experience with racing games, it was even more fun than ever. I recomend this game to anyone who wants to to play a fun racing game, just try demolition derby, thats when I really started to like it as a kid. Just as a side note, my dad used to have installed this game on our home computer (this is how I ended up playing it), and the name of the folder that the game was installed was named "The Most Realistic racing game". For that time, it was accuarate, for me, because that was the most realistic game I knew as a kid.
