False Skies

Story - It's unique and interesting, but there's not much in terms of writing. Your party is just a group of blank slate protagonists that never talk. There is some character development on the antagonist side, but it's really done with minimal writing. I don't recommend this game if you are just in for the story, unless you like really unique settings. Gameplay - The most notable thing about the gameplay are the game's dungeons. They are huge and complex. So if you are into that you're in for a treat. Towards the end, the dungeons rival and even surpass the complexity of Phantasy Star II's dungeon, the game I previously considered the game with the most complex dungeon design. But unlike PSII, it's not just complex mazes, but also very unique and interesting puzzles that are added to the mix. Rest of the gameplay is not too special. There's a job system in the game, so you have quite some build complexity, but I've never been a bit fan of such system because it makes combat less strategical as all battles need to be designed to be beatable regardless of jobs in the party. The encounter rate is really high, but there's an item in the game with which you can switch off encounters for the next ~100 steps. At first it's quite expensive, but at the end you can just buy hundreds of them. Even though the story progression in this game is linear, there is a lot of optional content. The style the world opens up is kind of similar to Final Fantasy VI if you ever played that. The game is also extremely long (50-60 hours), so you definitely get your money's worth. Music - Music was pretty good. Especially the battle themes. Not so amazing that I'll remember it or want to listen to it outside the game except maybe one of the final boss tracks, but good enough. Graphics - Just look at the screenshots, what you see is what you get. tl;dr - Get it if you are into exploring large dungeons, 50-60 hours worth of gameplay!
