Favorite RPG of all time
I'm 40 years old and I've been playing cRPG's for nearly 30 years. I played Ultima 6, Wizardry 7, Eye of the Beholder, Daggerfall, Baldur's Gate, and Knights of the Old Republic when they first came out. Fallout: New Vegas is my favorite game of all time. It nudges out KOTOR and Ultima 7, and even Morrowind. There are thousands of mods for this game and it still has a very, very strong modding community. I have 294 hours in this game, and I haven't played most of the official DLC, just mods. And it's about to go over 300 once I buy the GOG version. But you have better things to do than listen to some old dude, such as buy this game and forget you ever heard of Fallout 4.

Windows 10 User, NO CRASHES
The GOG version of FNV is by fay BETTER than STEAM version: - More than 20 Hours of Gameplay and zero crashes, just a minor BUGS (especially with mutascorpion who dissapear bellow the map but you still can kill them). My Steam version crashes at 20 - 30 min of gameplay - FPS really improves, no more "laggy" walking, a really improve in combat. - Very challenging, i really recomended to play Fallout 3 before, is like the "easy mode" of Fallout New Vegas - Very Cheap - The expansions can literally be their own standalone game - what else can i said? Just buy it, of course the GOG version, stay away of the SH%&%TY Crashy steam version PD: Long live the Legion!!

True Fallout
The Fallout that was meant to be. Created by Obsidian, the people who created Fallout in the first place when they were Black Isle many years ago. The most reactive and brilliant series in the entry, Obsidian pulled off this masterpiece in just a staggeringly tiny 18 months. Even with a lot of re-used assets, game engine, and design, the amount of work Obsidian poured into this was borderline staggering, and if we ever get to see the design documents released, we'll probably see something that was twice the size and depth with a twice as long development and debugging time required. Bethesda F'-ed Obsidian up in this in every single way they could. They said they'd only pay royalties if the game received over 85 on metacritic. F:NV went to score 84, missing it just by a short 1 point, allowing Bethesda to not give royalties. Who's to say Zenimax or Bethesda didn't give someone a little push to go below. Despite that, this is the most critically acclaimed Fallout game on steam, at 96% rating. Compare that to Fallout 3 and 4, at 82% and 78% respectively. That's right. The newest game couldn't even break 78%. Did they decided to not pay themselves for that? Gave the money away instead? No, they didn't. Obsidian created such a great Fallout that 7 years later, people are still patching, restoring cut content, and playing the game. A bunch of modders are working on bringing F:NV to F4 engine, dubbing it F4:NV. Use NVSE, in combination with 4GB patcher and Yukichigai's unofficial patch, and JSawyer's mod and hardcore mode, for a true vanilla expansive Fallout experience that will leave you awed and astounded at its reactivity and depth. This is the ultimate Fallout, and the one that will continue to be, it seems. Because after this, Bethesda never let Obsidian touch Fallout again, and from what we see, never will. Because they've seen, they know, that if Obsidian releases a single Fallout game with their tools: No one will ever trust Bethesda to do the job again.

Fallout returns
I remember my childhood, spending a whole summer vacation playing Fallout. Discovering that civilization is gone (Shady Sands) sneaking in the Raiders base, Struggling against the time limit, wandering in the Hub, running from Deathclaws and so on. Then another summer vacation, another Fallout (2). Trying to assemble the car, discovering that without a melee fighting skill you are fubar in early game stages, my boxing career, exploring the mine of Broken Hills, chasing the GECK. While I count myself as a hardcore Fallout fan, I didn't hate Fallout 3 per se, rather than quietly acknowledged that the series I once loved... gone. Like losing a close friend or a beloved one. Then New Vegas popped up out of the blue and the old Fallout atmosphere managed to break through that slimy mess of surface, which defines Bethesda games, with the weird animations, questionable graphics, silly NPC dialogue system and all that stuff which makes me dislike those games. And basically that's what New Vegas is for a hardcore Fallout fan. A bittersweet closure, like miraculously traveling back in time to spend 100+ hours with that beloved person you lost, knowing that it will end soon. Thank you, Obsidian. :')
