Fallout 2

im sure its a good game but the stupid bethesda version doesnt work

The village at the beginning of the game can't be killed by you, if you do, the game ends right then and there. Basically it forces you to be the "Chosen One" for a good chunk of the game, and it's very annoying for when you want to play an evil or chaotic character. Like Fallout 1, you are under a time limit to "Save" the protaganists home. If you ignore this time limit and play how you want to play, the game will simply end when the timer runs out (The village dies). And it's funny because the village dies anyway right after you return with the GECK, but the game doesn't end in that circumstance because it's a quest event. Obvious double standards. This is inexcusable for a role-playing game that is open world because it forces the player to act out of character for the sake of stopping the game from ending abruptly. Can you really call it a roleplaying game at that point? Or is it a story game with RPG elements? Another problem is how melee combat became obselete in this game because theres new, much stronger enemies but theres no new weapon that's stronger than the super sledge (The strongest melee weapon in the previous game). Even the Mega-Power Fist, it may do slightly more damage but it requires ammo and the range is only point blank unlike the super sledge. Ontop of all that, Fast Shot now no longer affects melee weapons, so melee builds are even less viable now. The only way to cut it as a melee build in Fallout 2 (Atleast if you plan on fighting the Enclave) is to spam chems. Another thing that ruins the roleplaying in Fallout 2 is that theres forced quest events that you can't try to intervene in. Like that ecnounter when Frank Horrigan kills that family, it doesn't even give you the option to fight him then and there. Even if it would only result in your characters demise, you should still have the freedom to do it. This includes your village dying to the Enclave with no way to prevent it. TL;DR The game isn't as good as the first Fallout, 6.5/10

When I was just child oh boy I like play that game so much... Its great successor of Fallout 1 and keep original Fallout style.. This is my favorite game ATT (all the time)

After bought this and tried to download it (tried being the main word here) I can no longer download anything on GOG for some reason

When this game was first released, it was fantastic and revolutionary. Now, it feels very dated and clunky. There is still fun to be had, but it is a pretty slow-paced game that has an invisible time-limit on gameplay. Eventually, you simply run out of time. Not realizing this at first, I took my time in the game and when I had to start over to play any longer, I was pretty much done with it. Perhaps there is a way to avoid this or a patch that prevents the game from suddenly ending, as the game has a large number of dedicated fans. I've played the beginning of the game several times and it is tedious for a couple of hours before it becomes interesting.
