You won't get bored

For around the past year, whenever I bought a game, I'd get bored. But not Factorio. I keep realising little things which could be automated, more to be mined, making me change my entire layout and system. I've just played this game for the last 2 hours, and before checking the time thought it had only been 30mins. Best game of the year. Kept me entertained. Still building up my empire, haven't researched laser cannons and weapons yet, so I've built an automated system to cook bricks and turn them into stone walls. Much quicker than manual. Unfortunately, I haven't discovered the sorter yet (to do my system I just source the materials directly from the mines so no sorting needed. Next I'm going to attempt to automate iron smelting. Damn, I just thought of a completely better idea than my current system: I've had a storage "block" where the items would rotate around and be picked off into chests, but why not sent them directly from their mines through the same smelting system that the stone has? The system would be less easily clogged, everything sorted... Damn, this game, makes you constantly think about new ideas. 10/10, most captivating game of the year.

Yes, have some.

This game is just beautiful in its excecution. I would reocmmend the game just for that reason. Behold, a good idea done very, very well! I cannot believe how well it runs, wiht the amount of complexity you wind up building in your factory. And as you discover how to build and automate the next little piece of your grownig factory, you suspect you might be learning about how big, complex projects get accomplished. And suddenly it's 2 AM, and you need to get up in 4 hours. Genre-wise, I'd say it's a base-building game gone mad, with some tower defense elements (which sort of take a back seat, depending on your map settings). Maps are infinitely large, and veteran players haven't taken this fact for granted. Seriously, the size and scope of some bases is unbelievable. For me, a game that makes you build very complicated things endlessly doesn't sound appealing at first glance. But play the demo, and get a sense for what the game might be like. I was very surprised how quickly it pulled me in. And now, I just tell myself Factorio is teaching me about project management, industrial manufacturing, and more, and I play as much as I want, guilt free! (I own this game on Steam, not GOG).

Masterpiece

I first bought this game on Steam and played for hundreds of hours. I finally had the chance to get it here on GOG and I don't regret it. The gameplay is addicting and the mod support is awesome. The only thing I'm missing on GOG are the user achievements. May not be a game for everyone. But giving it a try or playing the demo isn't wrong.

Multiplayer is a chore

You have to be subrscribed to a retarded system where you need to enter a serial key you only see in GOG on the browser not in the client.

Incredibly addictive

Incredibly addictive game. There's always something more to build, just another process to optimise or new technology to implement. Very hard to put down. At the moment the game is up-to-date on GOG. For multiplayer and other features you need to register the game at the company homepage. Not a big deal in my opinion, but your mileage may differ.
