Nice addition, but no updates on GOG
I enjoyed this DLC at the beginning, but Expeditions: Rome has not received GOG updates since shortly after its release, so that fact alone is worrying. Especially since some of the mechanics were fixed in a hotfix and a later update. Some GOG-specific bugs related to the trophies earned by quests and the Twitch drop-ins (they're forgotten) were never solved either. So you have to see if that's a problem for you or not; at least they're not game-breaking bugs. The new class is a nice addition, and is actually quite interesting despite what I first thought. For the price it's certainly worth it if you're combat-oriented. The changes in the story are welcome, but they're entirely focused on the arena. Only 2 stars because of THQ Nordic and GOG not providing the updates for some reason (these updates are available on other platforms), despite my contacting both several times since April.

A fitting addition
The new items and equipment are fine and all, but the Gladiator class brings a nice level of freshness to the gameplay. Arena missions are also a nice change of pace, where their final bosses may be less entertaining than all the other challenges presented. All-in-all recommended to buy on sale.

Sadly no
The game trailer and announcement got me really excited. It felt so ready to go in terms of gameplay and story display. And than it just got from bad to worse. The gameplay is quite limited but enjoyable. The way the story is presented is so cheap. Not so often one experiences so shallow characters in a game. It felt like playing Adventure Quest back in 2005. These cheap characters popping up in such a display, voiceless these characters were. I think i spent few days in the game hoping it will get better, at least to imerse me in therms of historical events. But nah...total waste of money.
