Typing fairytale
To take so anticlimactic mechanics like typing and create fun game around it is utterly impressive, The game is beautiful, interesting and fun to play. Only missing thing is some penalty for mistyping words, because now sometimes you can cheat by hitting random keys. I recommend this game to all fans of indie games, even if your goal isn't to improve your typing.

if youre looking for a fun laidback game
if youre looking to improve your typing skills while going on a scenic adventure this is for you. the directional controls are a bit off for me, its been a while since i played on a pc, the game is chill but the arena is aptly named for its intensity. :)

Lucid experience
I do not really know why I like this game. Essentially the story just meh and the gameplay is just typing. I never thought I would play it for more than couple of minutes. Somehow, I was drawn by the visuals and just enjoy walking through the world that literally unfolds as I progress through it. The combat also works, probably it won’t make you a better typist, but at least there is some motivation to be better at pressing keyboard and spelling words correctly. It can be a little bit harder once you need to switch between different magic types, but the difficulty is somewhat adaptable. There was one battle that I needed to restart more times that I would like. However other than that it was OK.

Epistory delivers what is promised
Typing and a story. That's what I expected, that's what I got. It's a tale of a woman's internal struggle, with what I found to be a satisfying resolution. Puzzles are easy. Unlocking the environment as you progress is probably my favorite part of the game and a visual trick I can't remember seeing anywhere else. There was one arena combat that was above my 33wpm typing ability, as it was not story related, I eventually just moved on. Other than that I had little difficulty completing the rest of the game. I also enjoyed collecting the picture pieces in each level. All my other GOG games with achievements recognize my achievements, but for some reason Epistory never logged anything. Totally worth $10 or less if you like to type and don't mind a narrative that has little directly to do with the gameplay.

Love the game but...
Total Playtime: 7h 38m This was a completionist playthrough in that I did everything in the main game but did not play with the Arena section that is accessible from the main menu. There really is a lot to like about this game. Combat is handled by typing words, and the game has an adaptive difficulty where the game tries to give you a challenge based on your typing skill level. You can also make your own custom dictionary if you wish to do so and instructions for how to do this can be found in the GOG forum for this game. The one and only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5/5 score is that the game can be hard for colorblind people (which I am) and a lot of that could have been solved if there was an option to adjust the thickness of the black border on words. It make seem like a small thing to deduct a point for -- until you consider that you can make your own dictionary, there's lots of language options by default, and even the option to switch your keyboard layout between QWERTY and AZERTY. Being able to adjust the border on words too would really make the difference between a game that is really good and one that is exceptional. Regardless, I do recommend this game. However if you are color-blind, you may want to check out some videos of people playing the game just to make sure that it won't be an issue for you.
