Major disappointment sadly, not worth it
According to a gamezone source the "spiritual" successor to Empire Earth I, this game dissapoints entirely when compared to the first release of the series. If it was a spin-off that would leave it as mediocre and less. I will compare to show the reduction of content. First impressions: The Menu and & Graphics look good for its time, there is a common mouse glitch with no reactions possible, but you can find the solution online easily. Campaign: Without spoiling, the game consists of three campaigns, one less then the original Empire Earth I, some missions borrow styles from Age of Empires. Instead of being presented with a challenge and the freedom to build your style of engaging to win, one mission assigned two units to fight an enemy who has access to all units and it is an extremly boring way of literally clearing the entire map of enemies, while players have done it in most likely every RTS, this game made it so dull, the campaign was too much to handle progressing in. Gameplay: Compared with the original, far less units, slower engagments, slower collecting, anything Empire Earth made except twice as slow. Units are extremly expensive or overreliant on one resource which makes the whole "great army" concept of RTS eradicated. All building concepts are Copy-paste from Empire Earth, nothing new but their duties have been replaced in an odd way, univeristies don't produce knowledge to advance, instead once built they offer 5-10 one-time spell abilities which some are extremly expensive and useless. Graphics/sound: Good improvement (except for units) when compared to predecessor, but a major flaw is that the camera is too-zoomed in, ruins a lot, also unit designs are confusing, WWI & WWII units look so raggy and similar, choice of units is bad and Music is fine. Overall: After less than 5 hours of gameplay (excluding campaign), the game is dull, for a game that has the same price as Empire Earth II (a worthy sucesssor) put that cash into better use.

GOAT
This game is My favorite game of all time. Does it have limitations? Yes, but that does not distract from the hours of fun.

Competent, but unremarkable.
A decent clone of Empire Earth. I still have it on CD. It has fewer eras and nations (older civilizations, such as Koreans, don't evolve into modern era, they sort of evolve into European WW1 and WW2 ). There are campaign modes for all eras and skirmishes that you can customize, but they are nothing special. Buy it when It's on sale and if you are a fan of the genre. It's competent, but unremarkable.
