Chapter 1 only
Standard PB game during chapter 1. After that - downhill. Kill X enemies quests, where X is in tens. Forced myself to play through chapters 2,3. Couldn't do this anymore on chapter 4. Uninstall

A flawed yet captivating experience
Good stuff first. One of it's best qualities is the sense of exploration and adventure. The world invites you to explore. Once you set off on your journey through Magalan, you will almost allways have something new and interesting on your horizon to check out. The jetpack adds another layer to exploration and is very much appreciated. If you like open world games and exploring, you should dig what Elex 2 has to offer. The main story is OK. Where the meat of the game (story-wise) for me lies in ppl's stories in the world. Their inter-personal relationships, their past decisions, conflicts between factions and so on. Since I also played Elex 1, it was interesting to see how the world changed between the two games. I also like the presentation fo the game. The game can look quite pretty at times. The lighting system in particular, mixed with fog and some god rays, can make the scenery look quite striking. Voice acting is done well, making most characters believable. The music, well, it's there. I didn't feel the need to mute it so there's that I suppose. Now for the bad stuff. This game feels very dated. The best comparison I can make is Fallout 4. I said earlier the game CAN look pretty but only from a distance and in specific situations - when there's strong source of light in the scene. Otherwise, the game looks like it's 10+yr old. Same goes for character and facial animations or controls. It all looks and feels janky. The biggest flaw of the game is performance. I can go from 110+ fps in Ignadon to barely 60 in the Fort, what the hell ? It was even worse with the DX11 executable... Dips like that are very noticeable and distracting. I also had a problem where the game would just hang after the first two intro movies. The only way I could make it work is deleting Elex 2 folder from AppData/Local. It was quite annoying. If you are willing to put up with the game's jank, performance issues and other issues, it does offer a captivating experience. You decide :)

Underrated
I freaking love this game like many have said it improves on the original and sad to say we will never get elix3 because piranobites has been shuttered rest in peace but from a very talented studio please support them even though it's too late

I expected a joke
I really hated Elex 1, I hated every second of it. Ugly, buggy, unfun. So I bought Elex 2, on a 50% sale, as a joke. I expected to see garbage that I could laugh at with my friends. As it turns out I really liked Elex 2. It's not a "good" game in terms of quality, writing, gameplay, etc. But it's the first game since Gothic 2 that made me feel that spark of exploring a dangerous and magical world, and as far as I am concerned the best game they've made since Gothic 3, which I think it is the most similar to. And I think it's nostalgia speaking, and that this isn't a general audience's kinda game. But I have to say that while I am not entirely down with this kind of strange mix of cheese and immitating superior action games; if Elex 2 is the kind of game PB will keep making then I'm once again ready for the ride. I still wish they would make a smaller, more grounded, world. And I wish the main story made any coherent sense. And I wish the main character was more likeable. But I had fun. I finished the game. I'll remember it, and I'll probably replay it. I can't say that for any of the Risen games or the previous Elex. If you end up getting this game just be aware this is jank city and it's best to quit once you get bored, there is nothing worth seeing at the end of the game. But you might just feel what made the original Gothic special in there, just a hint of it. It felt good to me.

Decent Game
I can see the knock on the camera, it takes a little getting used to. Also some key presses have changed so keep that in mind. Graphics and sound seem all acceptable. So far the only wonky things I have come across are the fore mentioned camera and some weird tone/interactions with NPC's. All in all if you liked the first one or don't mind a bit of a learning curve make sure to check this out
