Dungeon Keeper Gold™

Colorful, inventive, well finished, with a very cynical overlord to boot, Dungeon Keeper showed us how games of strategy could take form in more cerebral and varied ways. The units are very dear and the structures are the stuff of mythic legend and sorcery, all neatly recreated. The skilled and crafty AIare challenging and the malevolent voice makes the game even more compelling to the sick side of our minds that wants to get out.

Well, technically the second game I ever owned... the first being Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. This game sucked up so much of my time back in the day, and I played it full blast, speakers howling in agony. True, the graphics have not aged well, but the soundtrack is still awesome and I was hooked again within minutes. There is just nothing quite as sick as this game, except maybe DK2. This is my first experience with DOSbox, so it took some getting used to, but it runs fine after a bit of tweaking.

Just played 2 levels. Run pretty smoothly so far. A bit laggy when too many creatures fighting at the same time. But that is totally understandable, as this game needs to run under dosbox.

I Bought this game for 3 dollars and I've gotten more enjoyment out of it than the last 5 60 dollar games I've purchased. What makes this game REALLY good is getting FX, which is a free fan expansion i found on the gog forums which takes care of framerate issues And ramps up the difficulty a tone simply by making the enemy AI play organically, by expanding more, faster, and with more variance as well as being more agressive so it feels like a challenge when you finally kick open the door and there are level 9 bile demons gassing up a corridor.

And for once the game gives you the idea that being bad is good and bloody fun! RECOMMENDED :) THEPCGAMER'S BEST GAME IN GOG LIBRARY! (What's this? :- Like some games get "Best Game of 2014" or "Best Indie Game", etc... So I have decided to make my own!)
