Dragon Age™: Origins - Ultimate Edition

The best version of the best Dragon Age game. No DRM. No connection to dead Bioware servers required. No hacks to trick the DLC into working. It just works. All the DLC that you were nickel and dimed to death for back in the day? It's in there. Every old Nexus Mod that you downloaded for better hairstyles or godmode equipment or an extra slot so you always have Barkspawn? They still work. I put 500 hours into this game the first time around and I'm playing through it again, raw, no guides, no optimized path or min-maxing. I'm just enjoying the experience. I'd enjoy it more if it didn't crash about a quarter of the time when I have an area transition. I also have a few saves that crash every time I try to load them. The most time I've lost is about 45 minutes, but that's still too much. I'm playing it anyway. I save often and in different slots (when I remember). But every doorway and every map transition is a gamble. If it didnt' crash so much, this would be a five start game easily. And, before you say I should disable mods, it was crashing before I added a single mod. It actaully seems *more* stable since I've modded it. In the end: I love this game. This was the best RPG experience I've had on PC and I played through all of The Curse of the Azure Bonds and Secrets of the Silver Blade Games, Baldur's Gate I and II includign the Ascension mod, Icewind Dale, NWN, and even Planescape: Torment. I think this game is better than Torment. I said it and I am not ashamed.

20 Grey Wardens, over 2,000 hours played, around 350 videos of the game in my YouTube channel. There is only one game that made me do it. Dragon Age Origins. Its 5 years in development, which started before the EA cloud parked over Bioware, paid off. The game is rich and nothing released by Bioware after DA:O came near the same amount of awesomeness. It made me cry, it made me laugh, it made me angry, it made happy. It made me want MOAR and I got DA2 instead? Frak it, Bioware! At least I can always start a new Grey Warden and there are still things to be discovered in the game, even after 2,000 hours of gameplay clocked.

Game is unstable and crashes constantly. It is not patched up to run on modern 64 bit OS and you will likely be unable to finish the game unless you get your computer via a time machine. Please correct this as unpatched unstable games is the reason I came here from Steam.

Long live Ferelden! Buy this game and enter a fantastic world of role playing and adventure that will give you many, many hours of enjoyment. BioWare nailed this one! The plotline is solid and the story comes to life and draws you in through excellent dialogue, great voice acting and lore-friendly sets. A story that you are eager to explore and where your wanderlust and curiosity are amply rewarded with encounters of fantastical characters that are easy to develop strong feelings about. The sheer amount of content that is being offered here and the DRM free aspects make this purchase a no-brainer. I already own it on Origin and my recent purchase of this on GOG should be taken as a further endorsement of this game.
