Dragon Age™: Origins - Ultimate Edition

It was Mass Effect before Mass Effect. Outstanding storytelling, great lore, looks like a potato wrapped in a bin bag. If you plan to play it, download a mod collection for it to make it semi-bearable, and then spend 100 hours regretting how games don't try to write stories like this any more. I had a fairly intricate backstory worked out for my protagonist, and there was nearly always an appropriate dialogue option ready to go. There's a fair bit of inch-thick steel armour and people being killed by daggers to the chest despite the inch-thick steel armour, but in terms of dark fantasy, this is Game of Thrones meets the Dark Crystal. Definitely worth a play if you're visually impaired but enjoy a good yarn.

Not a controller game, only keyboard. This is a good older game to keep you going for hours.

Having played through the mass effect trilogy multiple times I was excited to play Dragon Age Origins and wasn't disappointed. I highly recommend this game, with the only problem being occasional crashing/freezing but that might just be a windows problem, not a game problem. For the best experience, please play your first playthrough blind and DO NOT LOOK UP ANYTHING.

Gameplay and story are still as good as they get, the graphics does not hold up as well.

GOG did the world a favor by updating the game with the LLA patch, Steam doesn't have it and it makes the game over there unplayable, here? Install and play perfectly.
