Diablo 1 HD Mod (Belzebub)

The mod is fully playable in English. For other supported languages, localization is partial: while all UI elements remain in English, lore documents and quest content are translated.
Belzebub, or Diablo I HD Mod, is a complex modification for the first installment of the Diablo series, which introduces a number of interesting improvements to the gameplay, a lot of new content and - most importantly - increased resolution.
Belzebub enriches the cult Diablo series with a real mass of intriguing content, presenting it all in HD resolution. The modification adds new locations, missions, spells, skills and monsters, 204 unique items, 170 crafting recipes, several new character classes (Warrior, Sorcerer, Rogue, Necromancer or Barbarian), 28 sets and 105 set items, four difficulty levels available in the single player mode, as well as a host of other gameplay improvements. The developer has also thought of a few additions in terms of interface, support for widescreen, and - as we have already mentioned - full integration with the new Windows systems. There is no denying that there is a lot to it, so every fan of the series, especially of the ‘one’, will undoubtedly not pass by this modification indifferently.

Holy Hell!
Last time i played Diablo again, must have been when i bought it on GOG. It still had it's (incredible) creepy charme, but that low resolution and some aspects made me quit really fast. I mean, it have been over 20 years at that point, when i played the vanilla the last time. Some memories should stay memories.... Now, GOG released the modded version, the mod itself went over my heady all these years. And... I am HOOKED AGAIN! Widescreen, high resolution, new content. Really good! [For modern gamers and first timers basically the definitive way to experience Diablo 1] I totally forgot how hard that one was and how creepy the dungeons and sound is. An all those beautifully drawn items! Sure, the game "feels" still old regarding controls and character movements, but playing it feels more convenient now and it looks kinda gorgeous even? Give it a try, you might find yourself playing past midnight again :) Also: Check out the Dungeon Keeper mod :)

A good QoL update for Diablo 1
Ever want to play Diablo 1 with some QoL updates and gameplay tweaks from Diablo 2? If so, this is the mod for you. In general, Diablo HD adds: -New Quests -No randomly selected quests (you get them all) -Tweaked balance -3 new classes -More class abilities I don't loooove every change but they all make sense. It ends up feeling kind of like Diablo 1.5 (especially as a lot of the cut content from D1 ended up getting recycled for D2). I don't know how necessary it was to add e.g. belts or cold damage type and kind of miss the persistent game state until you select the "new game" menu option. Otoh, you get a lot of the good features from rolling a multi-player character like easy access to nightmare and hell difficulty without the stunted quest variants from multiplayer. Honestly, my biggest gripe is that the belts just use D2 item graphics converted to D1 palette, which is extremely minor. It's a good mod, folks!!!
