Diablo + Hellfire

I loved this game and played it more than any other game back in those days. It has a great storyline/lore. The only reason I've not given it five stars is because it's quite dated by now, but i'd recommend any fan of the newer Diablo style games to buy this and they will enjoy it for sure. :)

It installs and works fine on Windows 10, which is refreshing. I believe, however, they should have added one more loot item to the game: Rose-Colored Glasses. So you can see the game the way it appears in your memory. Not that I didn't expect the graphics to be dated, but... wow. I'm certainly not going to knock off a star for it. I regularly play ASCII roguelikes on a 4K gaming box, so graphics really are irrelevant to gameplay for me. It's just a bit jarring -- and one more thing that makes me feel like the old man I have become. Like when I look in the mirror in the morning and think "How did this happen?"

Diablo was the best aRPG of it's time. It is a little old now but still really fun. I wasn't going to get this release as the graphics "update" isn't really all that great. I also have the original CD so I didn't see the point, especially because there are online tutorials to get diablo running on windows 10. Why 5 stars? It now has hellfire and this is the only legitimate way to get the official licensed expansion for diablo (apart from paying huge amounts on ebay) That alone is worth the cost.

Ich habe die Original-CD von D1 noch hier liegen, leider aber in Windows 8 nie zum laufen gebracht. Daher ist es eine große Freude, dass GOG nun endlich das Spiel für wenige Euro anbietet. Sofort gekauft und installiert und was soll ich sagen: Es zieht immer noch in seinen Bann! Natürlich muss man sich bewusst sein dass das Spiel über 20 Jahre alt und seither viel geschehen ist. Aber Diablo ist gut gealtert und macht nach wie vor viel Spaß. Es spielt sich deutlich anders wie der aktuelle Teil 3, weniger Killspeed dafür kontrollierteres Vorgehen. Hat beides seinen Reiz. Auch grafisch lässt es sich durchaus noch sehen, gerade mit hohen Auflösungen. Der grandiose Score muss glaub nicht extra erwähnt werden, die Musik war schon immer eine Klasse für sich. Von mir eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung. Für nicht mal 9 Euro bekommt man einen DER Klassiker schlechthin, der sich auch heute noch gut spielen lässt. Übrigens: Diablo 1 gab es ausschließlich auf englisch. Und so ist es heute noch. Kein Problem, gibt schließlich nicht allzuviel Text und selbst mit halbgarem Schulenglisch kann man gut spielen.

also warum sollte D1 jetzt plötzlich deutsch sein. Ich finde es cool, daß man D1 nochmal aufleben lässt und es ohne Umschweife unter Windows spielen kann.
