Wanted dead by a mysterious and far-reaching organization, you will traverse the futuristic city of Harbor Prime and make unexpected allies on your quest to bring down the system! In this cyberpunk adventure inspired by Blade Runner and Neuromancer, you are free to choose your playstyle: will you be a silent assassin, a hacker, a diplomat or a straightforward gunfighter?

Designed as a throwback to earlier 2D platforming and action games combined with modern RPG elements, Dex offers real-time combat, a mature storyline and interactive dialogues.

Customize your character’s skills, equipment and even augmentations – implants which grant you superhuman abilities and open up new paths within the game’s open world.

A revolutionary hacking mechanic also lets you dive into Cyberspace: overcome viruses and intrusion countermeasures to deactivate turrets, overload devices, steal corporate data and cripple your enemies!
  • Rare blend of realism and creative vision: Realistic action, mature storyline, and complex character interactions combined with hand-drawn characters, animations, and environments, arcade-style melee combat, and an original conception of cyberspace.

Pretty good demo, but needs some changes

First off, I should mention that while the full version has a Linux version and I do own the full version, I wanted to play the demo first but the demo isn't available for Linux. As a result I had to play the demo in wine and it seemed to have been working fine but I don't understand why the demo doesn't have a Linux version if the full version does. Anyways, the game seems to be pretty good but there are a few things that I would have changed. I don't like the fact that you have to manually pull the guns out to fire them, especially because if you are too close to an opponent, they can effectively stun-lock you and prevent you from using it. Along with changes some of the controls to make it so that there are just less buttons for specific purposes, I would just make it play more like similar games of the same genre.

Interesting mix of RPG and cyperpunk

I really enjoyed the genre mixing; the main things that need to be worked on is the quality of the hacking and combat expieriences as has been pointed out by many critics before me on the full game. A- quality overall.

Horrible controls ruined the gameplay for me. Mouse buttone, UDLR, arrow keys, Shift, E, T... too much. Uninstalled.

eine demo ist eine demo, ist eine demo

nicht gut, nicht schlecht, im mittelfeld ein spiele-demo die zum zeitvertreib einlädt schöne 2D-seitenansicht charaktere und npcs die mit einen plaudern, eine story die grob angerissen wird(es ist eine demo) (und demos sollen laune auf mehr machen) ich bin neugierig... es gibt schon so einige orte in der demo zu erkunden eine riesige stadt, schön gezeichnet gute musik, das einzig knifflige anfangs, die kämpfe(nahkampf, fernkampf) und das hacken... *arghhh* leider hat es die augumentierung nicht mehr in die demo geschafft, wer weiß ob dann noch paar kämpfe oder hacking einfacher geworden wäre wenn man bis zum ende hin die demo durch hat, belohnt wird mit dem ending, und der abspann kommt(trailer/intro) zur vollversion, wird man doch sehr neugierig wie, wo, was...? wie gehts weiter, was ist so besonders an der heldin, wer sind die leute die unsere heldin tot sehen wollen, verdammt nochmal! ich will augumentiert werden!
