Good but short game

I just finished Deponia, and it was a really good experience. The number one thing is the "graphics". It looks wonderful. The characters are ok, I didn't like the main guy a lot, he is such a jerk. But many of the supporting characters are great. The puzzles are good, most are "more or less" logical. The mini games are often a bit boring, but you can skip them if you don't want to waste time. The major downside of the game it's length and you need to be prepared for an abrupt ending. Personally I didn't find the ending very bad, but the game was short. That said I would recomend this game to anyone who likes point-and-click andventures.

Beatufull, but disappointingly short

I have played a lot of point-and-click game (Monkey island, Gabriel Knight, Broken Sword and so on...) and in my opinion Deponia can proudly stand between the "Good Old Game": music, art and puzzle are all very well made, there is a wonderfull dubbing and reference to monkey island too (although to the 4th, someone remember two parrot, grog and coffee?). The story is really intriguing, even though sometime you will shout at the screen things like "Don't do that, Rufus!". That said, the game is really short (I finished it in less then 8 hours), and the ending is a bit disappointing, as it not end the story at all. It is clear that Daedalic is trying to make an episodic game (I haven't finished Chaos on Deponia yet, so i can't say if it should be a third episode) but given the price of the game and the virtual no replayability of adventure games, i were expecting something longer. I think that if you liked the curse of monkey island, you will like even Deponia, but my advice is to wait when it will be on sale (and remember to buy chaos on deponia too)

PT translation could be (a lot) better

This is a fun, old-school-ish point & click adventure, borrowing much of its funny dialogues from Ron Gilbert's old LucasArts titles. Unfortunatelly, the portuguese translation seems like it was made using google translator. It's not that it doesn't properly adapt english puns (which would be understandable) , but it totally misses the point in a lot of basic phrases and words. For example, one character says something like "yeah, that was a piece of cake", and they translate it literally ("sim, foi um pedaço de bolo", instead of "sim, foi muito fácil"). It's sad to imagine some brazilian player who knows nothing of english trying to find some cake in the game when stuck in a puzzle. I always try to get adventure games with portuguese translation so I can play them with my wife, but I'll think twice before getting anything from this developer again.

Adventure-Misadventure

Lovely little comedy adventure. Occasionally you'll need to rub things against other things until they gel. Better played with German voice acting, in my opinion.

El gran escape

Rufus está apurado. Quiere huir. De su pareja. De sus amigos. Vecinos. Del basural en que se convirtió su Kuvaq natal. De todos. De él mismo. Pero todo gran escape conlleva sus riesgos. Y falla. Cosecha burlas. Y vuelve a fallar. No escarmienta. Y sigue fallando. Una y mil veces. Fallará. Pero esta vez... esta vez... Está cerca. Muy cerca de su objetivo: La celestial Elysium. Lugar perfecto donde sin esfuerzo todas las necesidades son satisfechas. Donde además abundan la pulcritud y la tecnología. Tiene que aprovechar esta oportunidad y lo hace. Casi. Algo sale mal. Logra apenas un contacto precipitado. Goal, su nombre. Joven, bella, frágil... comprometida. Ahora también está atrapada en Kuvaq. También debe escapar. Como nuestro héroe. Apela a su generosidad -todavía no lo conoce-. Debe volver a donde pertenece. ¿Actuará Rufus por amor a Goal o la verá como un simple pasaporte a Elysium? ¿Las dos cosas? ¿Es posible? El tono sarcástico al que recurre la historia -unas 12 horas en total- no da tregua. Daedalic Entertainment de Alemania se luce con un humor ácido -por momentos misógino- y con varias referencias a otros clásicos del género. Dan ganas de escuchar todos los diálogos -que son bastantes de por sí y es posible, ya que la trama y final son únicos-. Rufus es como es. No hay vuelta que darle. Pero el resto de los habitantes de Kuvaq -ciudad desecho de Deponia- no se quedan atrás. Toni, su media naranja podrida, festeja cada vez que se queda sola. Wenzel, su mejor-peor amigo no tiene empacho en quedarse con todas sus pertenencias. La secretaria trans Lotti, con su mentón cuadrado con sombra y su vozarrón, ordena el ayuntamiento.
