Arcade racer with some rage
What do I dislike in arcade race games? - If the enemy has different physics than I. - If I can hit invisible walls. - If I have to grind a lot to have a chance to win in a race. This game has all of that. I've bought because of nostalgia but had some bitter.

Must buy for car-with-guns addicts
The Good: it's a racing game with guns. There aren't many around. And it's good. In fact it's decent if played without the guns. Tip: play in "Classic" mode. You get more armor, less laps, and thus less blow-up frustration The Bad: - inconsistent difficulty. Some track are "win on first try". Others are rage-quit material, mostly because of #&@*@& obstacles in the middle of the road. - as typical of such games, robot cars have a behaviour that's inconsistent with yours. Some go at insane speeds, others turtle along, shooting at stuff. - while weapons and upgrades have stats, chassis don't. ALso the fact that you pretty much have to spend you cash upgrading the starting vehicule means the chassis don'T see much use. - the 3rd person view is more useful than the 1st person one. TOo bad some car models obstruct your view...

Why
1) Car health is very low and there is no counter play to getting shot because it's all auto aim. You just have to take it like a b 2) Random crap on the track everywhere. As usual AI is unphased while for you hitting something means straight to the back of the pack 3) Starter car handles very badly (I'm assuming you can upgrade this but you have to grind) 4) Powerups move around, often right as you are about to pick them up. WHY? WHAT DOES THIS ADD? #1 and #2 with #3 to assist pretty much ruin the game as you will spend 50% of your time disabled instead of actually racing. I would rather play Grip and I didn't like that game either!

Its a lot better than it looks.
When its on sale for pennies its well worth it, has cloud saves too. This is from the golden era of Russian videogames (Targem\Buka\1C). The physics are very arcadey, a lot of the environment is destructible. The powerup designs and the sound of the cars is the worst part of the game.

Another Great Old Game
Death Track Resurrection reminds me of the later 'blur'. I like DTR better. It is good enough graphically, though is older than blur I think; I find it difficult to win, as blur also was, most people liked anyway for the thrill of it all. I find DTR more thrilling; and no more debris on the track than in blur, and less being left alone in the race, than in blur, when you trail behind. There are also trainers, that I do not like to use; but for this game only more armor and You can compete, more training and practice and You can compete finally without help... Like blur it takes practice and training; and no weird 'win the woman's car' story-line, as in blur; just fun exciting gameshow racing, like Split-Second that I also like. It's actually a bit more exciting and interactive in it's presentation than that other racer's 'show' during a race. Lol. For those who don't mind driving in a racing game at times faster than You can think, this is a great game, right up there with similar titles. And it puts it's own flavor and spin on the genre, with more character. And if a racer is going to be difficult to win it should have great physics for the driving to learn; I prefer arcade racers with some simulation, and felt it was a good balance in this game: I play with a gamepad. So, if all of this appeals to You, I HIGHLY recommend Death Track Resurrection. And it runs fine on Windows 10, an i5 (probably even on older pcs), looks great even on my older 7** Nvidia display. If uncertain buy it on sale; I did, and is worth more than the price that paid: another great old game from GOG! :-)
