Excelent although junky

So, it's basically what everybody says. Essentially WW2 Hitman. Missions are open with freedom to complete objectives as you see fit, with great level design. When you manage to execute a plan (or person lol) you feel that "I'm a spy oh yeah baby" feeling. Luring people and strangling them, shooting enemies with your silenced gun, etc, everything feels good and when in disguise you always feel that "behind enemy lines" tension, that your cover can be blown at any moment. The problem is that the controls are very junky. Now, shooting your weapons feels great and sound overall is pretty good. Everything else, however, is horrible and dependent on a contextual menu that appears when the game wants and needs to be interacted with by holding E and (I kid you not) scrolling the mouse you. The problem is that the menu only appears when the game wants it to, which makes it hard for performing actions quickly, something vital to a stealth game. Overall, I paid very cheap for it and don't regret my purchase but it could definitely use some more polish on the gameplay. I recommend it to people who enjoy stealth games and don't mind a lot of quicksave-quickload trial and error.

Missed opportunity

I gived it a 5 (mainly because setting is finally on eastern front and one really need to apreciate level of details devs put into maps) stars, but honestly it is 3,6. Shame, this really could be great blockbuster of a game but stealth itself wasnt implemented properly, i mean in castle you are able to strangle a guy who is sitting next to his budy and he does not react to that, some choices of devs does not make sense for gameplay, for example you could obtain highest disguise possible, but still there would be 2 or 3 random regular grunts who would recognize you immedeatlly, i know this was to not make game to easy but it could be done better, and oh yes enemy soldier will see dead corpse of his friend from 500 meters but want see you lying in gras 10 meters far. All in all i really enjoyed it, this is a necessary bit of fresh air amongst pile of crap that industry is throwing at us last years. ps. I am yet to play expansion, hope it fixed at least some things i mentioned :)

Stealth perfection

Not quite as polished as Splinter Cell but this is a world-class stealth title. I don't know who decided it was "low-budget" because it looks pretty stunning on a modern system, the english production is lacking but that's easily forgiven when you consider it's a story about a Soviet spy. Cannot wait to finish and play Moment of Truth, but it is a very challenging game.
