My coffee warned me about this game.
If you like weirdness in your games, you'll love this. If you loved Twin Peaks, you'll love this. The main character is an FBI agent who sees the future in his coffee. There's another character who will only speak to you in rhyme through an interpreter. You'll spend the game downing cans of pickles, collecting trading cards out of trees and fenced-off parking lots, literally fishing for evidence, and shooting zombies in the head while York mutters "amazing!" to himself every time you get a headshot. It's completely insane. And utterly brilliant. It's not perfect, of course. If you have the chance to go for the at this point stabler XBOX360 or PS3 versions of the game, you should probably do so. If you're like me and only have access to the PC version? It's acceptable. I haven't personally had any crashes, but it sounds like other people have. The controls are...idiosyncratic. You'll also spend a great deal of the game driving a police car using fiddly tank controls through a maze of winding streets and a map that isn't always helpful. This...is actually almost surreal enough to work in the game. Almost. It's a good game. Quirky, surreal, downright cheesy at points, but good. If that's what you're looking for? Enjoy, friend. It hits that bizarre tooth just perfectly.
