Nice but not at this price point

It's a very nice game, interesting and refined, but the story can be finished in a couple of hours, with no replay value because some sections (the rat) are more a chore than a game. Basically, the first hour is a tutorial, and when you're ready to play, with lots of ammo and shotgun shells, the game ends.

Short is not a problem for me

People complain that the game is short. Well, it is. But for some people like me, that don't have the time to keep playing open world sandbox games (a la Skyrim) and invest 1000+ hours into a game, I find that 4-20h for a game is a good match. Deadlight is a nice game with a good atmosphere. The story is a bit basic, but kept me goind. Also, for 4h of gameplay it's hard to expect a Lord of the Rings level of storytelling. Controls are a bit clunky sometimes. Maybe because I used mouse & keyboard to play. Probably a controller would have made the game easier. Overall, the game delivers what it proposes to do.

Well done game

Great game reminded me of vector a bit the parkour element Graphics are polished and well desingned. You really feel the zombies in your tail and you got be fast sometimes. Soundtrack is good nothing outstanding but its good. Gameplay is fun with parkour elements and shooting zombies,a slingshot and an axe . The game is straight foward with little easy to solve. The Story is good overall Its a little campaingn 4hours but at least you get the nightmare mode wich is good. I got it for free so i am very thankfull for that. I did get a little freeze in the game when i died loading the game, i had to quit and enter the game again wich was a some what of a pain. Overall i would give 7/10.

Good Platformer

Deadlight is a good platformer that reminds me most of "Out of This World" also known as "Another World" from days gone by (1991) (which is also available from GOG: https://www.gog.com/game/another_world_20th_anniversary_edition) . Standard platforming controls are present, and only a list of minor annoyances ends up derating from 5 to 4 stars: First are controls that are at times unresponsive (i.e. don't do what you expect) which makes some timed sequences more difficult than they'd otherwise be. Second is the over all short story--there is only a few hours of play time here and given the story, that's a shame. Lastly, there are some level annoyances--e.g. cardboard boxes that must be jumped over or you stumble, as well as some timed runs that have some inconveinent checkpoints that require re-doing more of the area than you'd prefer. Generally recommended, with a gaming value in the $10 to $15 range.
