A Masterpiece
Nine years after its relaese, this game is still a satple of my collection. Wether a quick unwind or an all day session, the turn based combat keeps me coming back. Even when RNGsus clearly hates me, I rarely feel the game is unfair, but rather, I took a bad bet and lost. The only thing that still makes me rage is getting a suprise round on the enemy, only to have my killing blows fail, and losing partymembers to 2 full rounds of concentrated attacks, but I'm always back within a few day to delve the cove again.

An Excellent game
Nothing much to say, voices, image, sound, music, the mubbling cursing while you lost everything that you have been working for 30 hours, everything is perfect. But i have a problem, the Butcher Circus DLC is nowhere and the game says that the DLC exist, its not that ruins the game or anything, but the events of that DLC apears and can take away other events form the game.

Fun, moddable game
I'll start by saying that this game is great vanilla, but I play it modded, and I think it's worth having a review that reflects that. This is a game about making the best of a bad situation - and the vanilla game is meant to be kind of stressful and hard. You're constantly making decisions that will make or break your heroes. But, this is also one of the most moddable/modded games out there, and there's lots of amazing mods for it - including some that decrease difficulty in such a way that it's functionally a very different game. When modded in this way, it becomes a game about people in terrible situations supporting and inspiring each other, and helping one another cope with stress. So if you want a challenge, this game will give you that. What isn't widely advertised is that you can mod it to be a lovely settlement-building adventuring game where your heroes like and care for each other and you look after their mental health. There's something here for everyone.

Hard and punishing rogue-like with style
One of the better premium indie rogue-like dungeon crawlers came out in the past decade. The animation, art style is great, the UI is polished and the encounters are hard until you learn how to overcome specific enemies. Some are resistant or use devestating attacks. Optional mini-bosses and 3 tiered main bosses specific for each region are waiting your party. You have to manage your heroes, and town with limited starting resources. But in the end you can upgrade everything and have a steady income of gold and trinkets. Sometimes it's unforgiving with big rng swings. Bad dice rolls can take out even the well equiped party. But the difficulty is one of the key parts of this game. You fail, you learn, prepare, fail again, until you succeed. Never forget when I discovered how to defeat a certain boss on my own. No wiki, just trial and error and the victory felt great. Need to have patience for this game. It's well wort the time.
