Great game but need more time

Story, art, design are impeccable, with cyberpunk core of the humanities, very wonderful. But the bugs in the game are just as obvious. As most players think, this game is a semi-finished product, which needs time to perfect. You can even find many unfinished traces. If the game is a full version, I can't imagine how wonderful it should be. But the rush to sell did disappoint. It's not hard to imagine that this is the death choice of cdpr between working capital and word-of-mouth. PS：3 stars for art (city design;music;Art style),3 stars for cyberpunk story,-2 stars for bugs and go back on word ;(

It's an experience

this is one of the most amazing stories you can play in a futuristic video game needs ironing for sure but the backbone of the game is wonderful

An addictive "RPG"?

I had no expectations or hype around Cyberpunk prior to it's release and bought it on a whim last minute and I have to say I don't regret this decision at all. Cyberpunk is a pretty addictive "ARPG" that has you shootin' and lootin' various different flavours of street punk as its gameplay bulk, but where it really shines is its main story and characters. The dialogue for cyberpunk is exceptional and special note should be made for all of the animators and actors that must have spent an extravagant amount of time on the facial animations for each and every character. Night City is also a treat to look at wherever you are on the map and atmosphere is firing on all cylinders. Presentation is a 10 here, no doubt. Where Cyberpunk starts to fall apart is in its variety, balance, and identity as an "RPG". You're choices in this game are almost always superficial, typically giving you at most an extra line of throwaway dialogue, which while interesting, does nothing to actually influence the world around you. Guns are fairly uninteresting and have a few standout overpowered candidates *cough* precision rifles *cough*. Mission types are another area where the game feels fairly flat, typically having a mission where you: A) Kill a room of people B) Don't kill a room of people but still can if you really have to. There are excetions to this, of course, but for the most part this is what the lions share of side-quests feel like. Upgrades are also fairly incremential, giving +3% or +5% in any given skill, harkening back to the worst parts of Bethesda RPG'S. Still, after that negativity I find myself coming back to Night City just to see what new interesting storyline I can uncover around the next corner. TL;DR Cyberpunk is basic in it's gameplay and barebones in it's RPG mechanics but great writing and presentation make it stand out where it would otherwise be seen as run-of-the-mill

Aggressively average.

If Ubisoft had shit this out I would have expected the bugs, the boring, tedious open-world missions, the poorly scripted and generic combat situations. The minimal real player agency, and general level of over-hyped grand standing. Yet it wasn't made by Ubisoft. As far as we know anyway.

Promise smothered in garbage

Cyberpunk, at it's core, has promise. Unfortunately, the completely unfinished state it was released in is questionable at best, and potential class action lawsuit material at worst. The story is interesting, but is held back by CDPR syndrome: Protagonist is a gruff tough guy (TM) who only speaks in sentence fragments; The world stands on the merits of someone else's worldbuilding and source material; the underpin of 'eurojank' (low polish, low level of writing, low level of scaling) spoils the engaging nature of the world; AI is atrocious, and borderline painful in how pathological it's decision-making is. Other characters are interesting, and are capable of full sentences. The world is interesting, and deserves areas/groups other than nomads to be fully fleshed out. The conclusion is satisfying, if a bit trite. There is a complete lack of late game activities - at level 40, all activities are trivially easy, and not much is left to do. Full price for the game, you'll get maybe 50h out of it. That's decent, but not great given that it could be so much more. At it's core, this game rides on previous goodwill from other CDPR projects. Wait for serious sales and serious patches and expansions. 50% GotY material.
