lies and stuff

I'm not the only one remembering all the broken promises, right? "No sales within a year post release" for one? Over sold basic functions (that aren't finished either)? This cannot be tolerated. Also guys buy Deus Ex or Blade Runner or Observer or sth. There are actually good cyberpunk games out there...

Not a rpg

So first of all you dont create your own character in this game you play either vincent or valerie.V was a nickname originally and you could give v a first name by yourself don’t know why they screwed that idea.The lifepaths are also pretty barebones they doesn’t have an effect on the story at all but hey for some reason you can pick your pipi size because this is important.Most of the side quests are so boring…..they are typically fetch quests what you have in mmorpgs.There is also not really a variety in fights if you sneak to an enemy you can just choke them to death even if you have mantis blades installed.You don’t even see an animation when you install implants it’s just like an equipment system and you also can’t interact with npcs in the city they are just soulless zombies wandering around for no reason.You can’t buy food and eat it as well everything is just a facade.You also don’t really have choices in dialogues and if you pick something the guy says what he wants anyway and he is such a try hard edge lord.What is really good is the soundtrack and the world design night city looks great especially at night.What you really notice during the playthrough is that they didn’t know where to go with this game.I think the hype and keanu reeves did influenced this game very negatively and otherwise it could have been a rpg masterpiece if they would have sticked with the original route without putting so much resources into marketing.Sad very sad

A Delayed game is eventually good...

This game should mark the end of having any release dates for any games or content from CDPR until honestly it is 100% completed. No giving into Investor pressure to annonce a date or giving into fans wanting a release window anymore, instead citing this game as to why you will not be announcing release dates until its actually ready for real this time. If you are going to invite someone famous to be a part of your game have the story written out ahead of time so you arent wasting development time rewritting the majority of your games story cutting out large amounts of hard work and progress over a 8 year game development period just to work in said famous individual. This game has around 100,000 lines of spoken dialogue which is 1/5th that of Red Dead Redemtion 2 and Read Dead Redemtion 2 wasnt even an RPG game with different dialogue choices and paths for your character to take to change up the story, and Read Dead Redemption 2 was in development for the same amount of time as Cyberpunk 2077 sooo.... . Cyberpunk 2077 is lacking in Animations, Dialogue, Physics, Efx, Vehicle Customization and a whole lot more, and Character Customization after you start the game does not exist outside of the small visiual changes some cybernetics give the player. The game lacking in all these different areas wether its hugely lacking or only lacking a little contributes a quite frankly lackluster experience that I couldnt easily immerse myself in. I really hope CDPR pulls a Hello Games and lays low, silently working to make this game worthy of all that pre launch hype. But most of all I hope they learn from this taking all the critisim and hate and using it to fuel their passion for making games the right way. I will hopefully be able to return to update this review as soon as I feel this game is in state where it should have been at launch, content wise and quality wise. If it never gets there then the review will remain as is, good luck to the CDPR Team.

I wanted to like this game i really did

I wanted to like this game I really did, but 8 months later and most of the flaws it had at launch are still there. I love the game don't get me wrong, the story although missing some stuff was excellent and the relationships and character development built throughout the campaign really felt like somthing. The gunplay I feel was also a strong point of this game with a good variety of weapons and armaments. The sound design was top-notch with booming sniper rifles and calm ambient sounds in and out of the city. The soundtrack is amazing, probably the best of any game in the past 10 years with a large variety of styles and genres. And of course, the graphics are second to none, to be expected from CDPR. BUT... and this is a big BUT. The game is flawed, and not in the way simple bug fixes and patches can fix. This game has underlying problems that will require extensive effort to fix to make this game a true masterpiece, which I believe it has (or had) the potential to be. First is the story, probably the easiest to fix, there is a large chunk missing from the first half of the game that would elevate the experience if it was actually included. Second is the world, not in terms of its looks or anything but in how it works, there is nothing to do other than go fight bad guys, no bars, clubs, activities, it really feels empty once you have finished the story. Third the AI, it was stated before launch that NPC's would have their own daily routines, this was a lie, they don't. The police ai is bad, they appear out of nowhere then aimlessly chase you, the enemy ai is also pretty bad, they just sorta stand and shoot at you. There are a number of other smaller issues as well but I don't have enough space to write it all here. They have performed many bug fixes, but many bugs and issues still persist. I'm writing this review now months later because I was holding out hope that CDPR would do something about these issues, but it's become apparent they are not.

Solid 30€ game!

It is a huge step back as an RPG but it's a fun little FPS. RPG: Your choices mean nothing but at the same time, you don't have the freedom to do whatever you want. So in this sense, the game has the worst of both RPG worlds. The story is engaging at first but then gets really lame and inconsistent. FPS: A lot of cool mechanics that make capturing "camps" fun. But after a while, you can't really shake off the FarCry feeling. The only thing I enjoyed are the FPS elements and driving around the city. but even here you notice a lot of cool ideas that are all implemented half-heartedly.
