Cyberpunk 2077

Game is simply good, however hype mixed with ambition has turned out a buggy mess of a game packed with errors, crashes, feels like it lacks content. Yes it's a massive detailed map but thats about it, not really alot you can do. I really like the combat I adore the fact you can add technology to your person and make them run fast, jump high! except that's it. Campaign I don't feel any connection to the characters in the game, however I like the campign SOMETIMES, moments it just feels like a drag, NPC's are rather just placed with rigid movements, they have nothing all that special in how they move except they look great. the choices you make at the start of the game don't feel all alike it changes it anything except it's introduction. would like to see the roleplay aspect of the game expanded more, make your starting choice actually mean a great deal. The game 100% needs some major fixes, it feels like a beta test NOT a actual full release which sounds crazy for what potentially was going to be "the greatest game yet".

Wake the fu*k up samurai! You have a game to fix.

This was the first game I submitted a refund request for on GOG. For starters, it's broken. Performance is all over the place. One minute you might be playing at 80 FPS, the next it's down to 15. All because you looked at a wall the wrong way. (seriously) I also encountered two game breaking bugs, forcing me to constantly reload autosaves just to finish one of the main story missions. Sometimes, reloading didn't work. So I just kept doing it until it did. (the AI that plays with you decided to nope out of there. He's kinda needed, so... rip mission) I also found a door that for some reason didn't want me to walk through it. It was a fairly important door, too. As in, if I don't go through it, the story ends, and the AI with me yells at me indefinitely. I also spontaneously combusted once. So that was neat, but only the door and the AI not doing its job were actually game breaking. (note: I assume a random invisible thing blew up beside me, lighting me on fire) The reason I decided to go for a refund, however, was because of the horrible performance. With an 8th gen i7, 16GB of RAM, and a 1070, the game preset to ultra. This was very much unplayable, so I lowered it down to medium. No big deal, right? Graphics still looked good, and the game ran at about 60-90 fps. That is, until it decided it didn't want to run at 60-90 fps. Open door? 30 fps. Look at wall? 15 fps. Walk 5 feet in a random direction? 20 fps. Heaven forbid I try to walk into Night City. I'm honestly amazed my game never actually hard crashed, but it sure felt like it wanted to. All in all, don't buy Cyberpunk 2077. At least not yet. Or if you do, don't buy it on PC unless you have a 20XX or 30XX card. Aside from the bugs, glitches, and whatever else? The game was fun. I enjoyed it. But I still can't recommend it. Unless you're into torturing yourself... then, I guess it's okay? (I ended up buying it on Stadia instead, and it runs well. Still buggy, but at least I can play it now)

You will read plenty of reviews going into the glitches and bugs, lack of optimization, key binding issues, they are all correct as I have experienced them. Here's the thing though, fixing those will not fix this game. The game is lacking depth, it lacks good RPG systems and it really lacks in creative vision. But hey, the garbage in the bins is handcrafted, right? Johnny Silverhand? Love him or hate him, 50-50 as I see it, but the amount of the story that relates to him? You will hate it. He is the protagonist, you're just along for the ride. He gets the girls, the looks, you will see his character model more than you see yours, he gets the cool gun and more exposition, he gets the cool lines. Why? Obviously because he played in a better Cyberpunk version, the 2020 version, you are stuck with this one. Should you buy it? If you think that CDPR will slot in a better loot system, more npc interactions, more depth to the city itself, a better balanced grind, better attribute/skill/perk system then go ahead and wait for it to go on a 50% discount but I wouldn't hold my breath. Is 2 star too low for it? No. If you bought this on PS4 and XB1 you know this is a 2 star game, but even if, like me, you have a rig that can power through the bugs and bad optimisation, what is beyond the glitches is not really worth it. To CDPR: give this the Witcher 1 EE treatment because it still needs 1 year of work just to add in the content that you teased us with and isn't present in the game, then maybe another year to clean out the bugs. But this will not make up for the release quality on some other platforms. The biggest joke is the notion that 'we asked for this when we insisted not to delay the game again'. This game would not have been finished to an honest state in March 2022.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a good game to play if one ignores the marketing around this game, the display bugs, and buggy game systems. It really needs at least a year more of work. Ignore the RPG elements and just pick the best gun and stick to it. Stealth, hacking, melee, fists, and crafting are all optional. Care has poor handling. T poses. Cops spawn out of nowhere. Lack of emergent game systems.
