Cyberpunk 2077

Lifeless and boring. Thats Night City. The zombie like NPC's just walk around like decoration doing nothing in particular. The CIty itself has no real events and there is nothing memorable about it when moving around. Its like GTA never existed and this was the first attempt at an open world city. The "random" events are just the same "assault in progress" or "Organised Crime" which just leads to you shooting everyone. Combat - basic and uninspriing. Bullet sponge enemies with terrible AI run at you whilst you hold down the trigger. Melee combat is like Skyrim but worse. Driving - awful. Its like driving through treacle until you brake and then you are on the oil patch. Just use fast travel. Story - good main plot and the main missions can have a couple of different outcomes but the side quests are limited and dont have the same pull as the Witcher side quests did. Nothing as good as a Witcher Contract here. This also bring me to the life paths. They mean very little to the game. You basically are a street kid no matter what you pick. The origin story is half hour of play before they all end up in the same place. Overall experience is one of disappointment. A good main story buried under poor gameplay is the best summary I can give. Whilst ill push on and finish the main story I doubt ill ever do a second playthrough and I wont be buying any DLC for it.

This game should not have released and the fact that they lied about certain parts of the game hurts a lot more. It's bug ridden and broken but that's not just it since those things can be ironed out while certain elements of the game will remain as it is right now. Early on I felt like my decisions were pointless and whatever I choose the outcome was the same even for different starting backgrounds you end up at the same point and from there the game is the exact same way for every one, and to add salt to the wounds I looked up a non spoilery info about choices and if that's correct 98% of your choices are pointless so you can just play through the game till the end save there and explore all the different endings or just watch it on youtube. Also where's the replay value? The talent points you get is just stat padding and the different modes of taking out enemies are just different in flair you do the exact same thing (killing them) and there's little to no variation on how you can approach a certain encounter since there's no hidden or alternate paths you can go so it's either stealth takedown one by one, hacking takedown which all look the same or just shoot them and that it. All in all I wouldn't recommend it now and wait till it's much much cheaper or it's a "GOTY" edition or something with everything in it cause it's bad. Sadly since there's not many similar games out the market that's hard to do but oh well you do you.

AI is horrable and ruin the game for me. not enough RPG elements for me. game look really good for the most part but with that keep in mind I'm running it with a 3090! I have just uninstalled this game as it's a waste of space. and I did give it a chance I gave it 26 hours. dissapointed and I really don't know if they can ever get my trust back.

I didn't buy into the hype that built up around this game and I'm still dissapointed by it. Game is poorly optimized. Full of bugs - I didn't encounter anything gamebreaking but there are still problems like enemies seeing me through solid walls, talking corpses and upgraded guns showing wrong stat bonuses. RPG elements are almost nonexistent, this basically a shooter, there are hundreds of perks to choose but all of them are just minor stat bonuses, if you wanted to play as a pacifist like in Deus Ex or older Fallout games then too bad. In this game, peace was never an option. City is huge and beautiful yet it feels devoid of life. You can't buy a burger at a diner. You can't dance in a club. You can't hang out with your "friends". Yakuza games have stuff like this and they are made with a fraction of the budget that this game had. Hell, even Witcher 3 had a widely popular Gwent game. Here you have nothing, all there is to do is riding around and shooting people. Hardly a revolution in gaming that we were promised. Bugs at the moment are really bad, that's true. But even when they eventually get fixed this is still a 7/10 game at best. It just lacks meaningful content and no patch is going to fix that.

As per your own guidelines: "Your review should focus on your in-game experience only. Let the game stand entirely on its own merits." I pre-ordered this and I'm not a fan boy as many 5-star reviews here. This game is far from a perfect score. What merits does this have as a PC game if... - You can't rebind keys - You can't tweak graphics options to achieve better performance in your PC hardware. - You can't change TAA to something else. This was supposed to be a PC game review and not a console one. Therefore it looks blurry AF. - Driving is awful, worst feeling I had in a while. - Omni-present police with terrible AI and their aim is just there to "chees/punish" you. - Neon and seizure inducing lights are not breathe taking graphics to me, this might be a matter of taste though. - POOR optimization, I shouldn't need a RTX 3090 to play at 1080p, period. I realized all of this with 50 minutes of playing this games and by the way GOG Support Desk hasn't replied to me for my refund ticket, still waiting. Because of this I can't comment on plot/story and world building. CDPR, you should learn from Halo Infinite's team. Take it on the chin and delay your game 1 more year. Meanwhile I want my money back.
