Cyberpunk 2077

I just can't believe THIS is the result of 7 years of development, with such a great lore. I don't mind the bugs, they are not that bad on PC. I tried really hard but this game is just plain bad. - Deplorable combat. You need an entire magazine of headshots to get an enemy down... It's a tedious game of emptying entire magazines and restore health. A baseball bat does more than TWICE the DPS of an assault rifle. I ended up forgetting all the tactics and just rush them one by one with a baseball bat - that was by far the most efficient 'tactic'... - AI would make Fallout 4 raiders look like a masterpiece in designing villains skills. - This world is graphically nice... But you can't interact with anything. All you got is a shop here and there. No random NPC interaction at all. Only groups of thugs looking copy-pasted with only a skin change. - Unintuitive for pretty much everything but the very basics. All the hacking and camera overheat stuff just feel like a tedious, unnecessary complication. - The car driving is comically bad - The characters acting is bad most of the time, - It does not feel at all like a Cyberpunk world. The 1980's vibe that they tried to reproduce is just totally off. - They let plain text lore explanations, just for you, a bit all over the place. Imagine a movie where they have to show a long written explanation, in plain text, every once in a while instead of integrating it to the world itself, in dialogues etc. This world is so devoid of any interaction that we get the quests DIRECTLY BY PHONE... The side quests are not even integrated to this dull world. You don't come across quests, they just send them to you. Like in Saints Row 3 but without the fun. Maybe it changes later in the game with the arrival of the celebrity guy, but so far... It's just sad. What a waste... Such an immense job on graphics, on this huge city, full of objects, details and designs... But all you do is watch around and shoot at things.

I've put over twenty hours into this game and even though I could get it run fairly well on my pc, it's still was riddled with bugs. There are too many to name here, but go to youtube to see how incredibly buggy this game is. This game is an unfinished mess. Outside of quests there is nothing to do. Most of the vendors are there for appearance and none of them sell you anything unique so there is no point in visiting one over another. In a city that is supposed to be full of sex, drugs and vice there are only two prostitutes you can interact with outside of quests. The strip clubs and bars are all illusions that add nothing to the game since you can't do anything in them. There are no casinos to gamble in, no minigames to occupy your time. There is nothing to do, absolutely nothing to do, outside of quests. Night city is completely lifeless and boring. There are no random enemies either, just enemies that respawn at certain locations so you always know where they are. The ai controlling peds and cars is not even on par with ten year old games. Police spawn right next to you no matter where you are. Ped driven cars run on rails and control horribly and either don't turn enough or turn so much that it feels like you are on ice. The prices for buying cars is so high and unbalanced that it is laughable. The lifepaths are meaningless outside of the ten minute intro and a few dialog options in the game. The perks are mostly stat boosts instead of unique abilities that add variety. The user interface and menus feels like it was made by ten different people who never talked to each other as there seems to be no coherent reason for why a certain button does something. One minute C closes the dialog the next it's ESC or X. Nothing makes sense. The crafting menu is horrible and doesn't even tell you how many of a certain item you have so you are making items blindly. Everything feels rushed and slapped together with little thought. CDPR can't be trusted anymore.

I'm not gonna talk about the gazilion bugs or performance issues these things will eventually get fixed. At least i hope they will. Now lets talk about the problems. Yes Night city is indeed massive and beautiful but that's it. It's like a book with a beautiful cover and when you open it, it is empty inside. There is no real interaction with the environment or the people. The 3 life paths don't seem to have any real impact besides some dialogue options. The AI is brain dead. No tactics whatsoever, which makes all the fights basically the same. If you want a harder difficulty the enemies just become bullet sponges. Ah and you can leave the car in the middle of the road and all the others will just line up behind it and do nothing. Also why do the cops need to just spawn behind you? If that was case then crime should not exist in night city, cops are teleporters. The crafting system is broken. You cannot keep up with the upgrades if you wanna keep your equipment, unless you grind like never before and dismantle the drops. Why no side activities to sit back and relax? I think we supposed to just walk around and shoot stuff and that's it. I could go on about the driving or the supposed rpg system but this is long enough. The positives are the story and the characters but they can't carry this whole thing. I was one of the fools that preordered the game but at least now i know, i learned my lesson. I hope this company did not become the new Bethesta. You know, the buggy release and an upcoming online version? It really needed more time and work because if that's the final product they had in mind then they shouldn't have over-hyped this game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not a great game, its barely game. Its a linear unfinished jank in an open world. The 2018 gameplay reveal trailer told the truth, "Does Not Represent The Final Look Of The Game" should be this game's sub-heading. Cyberpunk 2077 is not finished. Even after the patch its riddled with bugs and glitches that break immersion and sometimes break the game. It also is not a first person RPG or any RPG hybrid, it's an action adventure looter shooter. Weapons DPS and the armor of your clothing is the name of the game. Your dialogue choices do not matter (except in a few story missions), playing steathily does not matter, hacking does not matter, grab your gun and shoot your way through as it is the fastest option and has zero consequences. And speaking of consequences your actions in Night City do not matter. It isn't a living city as it was marketed, it is one that is static and dead. It's absolutely beautiful to look at, it's an artistic marvel, and that's where it ends. There is zero interaction. crowds give the illusion but ultimately do nothing. Gangs only exist to serve as background elements for some characters and repeated random encouters. Police spawn out of thin air and disengage a block away as they don't drive cars. In fact none of the A.I drives, cars are simply on set paths. Can't be customized either, just like you. After the initial customization you're locked into your character. No hair style, tattoo or piercing changes that have existed since the days of San Andreas, & Saints Row. Its a Cyberpunk theme with no Cyberpunk choices. The only strength is the acting, visuals, and the soundtrack. The art team put a lot of love into the game and it shows, the voice actors also give life to characters that aren't interesting plot wise as they're forced into the story, and the radio/club music is great..but that's all. Cyberpunk 2077 is all syle and no substance, a tour bus ride of Night City and not worth a purchase at the moment.

So very disappointing. Game feels unfinished, and the characters and dialogue lack the charm of those found in The Witcher. I could forgive the bugs etc. What I was really looking forward to was a compelling story full of characters I was invested in. But the game failed to make me care about ANY of them. Literally any. That includes the protagonist V - zero charm, talks like an edgelord the whole time, no matter what choices you make. We were promised an RPG with deep choices, but V never really felt my own. I hoped for more from this game, and what it has needs work. Wake the f*** up CDPR.
