Cyberpunk 2077

The first act is very enjoyable, the story kicks off quickly and you are drawn in. Sadly later on you notice that there are not so many decisions anymore, whose impact you feel during the game and not only as some minor alterations during the credits. The problem of the game is not bugs, which can be patched over time, but an immersion breaking shallow stage in which a quite linear story is set. You could write pages about missing little activities to do in the world, or how it is not possible to change your avatar in game, and all the tweaks this game would need in regard of useability. What is really annoying and upsetting over time are the reactions and AI of NPCs, police, by-standers and traffic. The AI is ridiculous! If Act1 had been released as Early Access I probably would have given 4 or even 5 stars. But even and especially as a fan of the future-noir setting I cannot rate the whole game with more than one star. It is sad to write this game off as a missed opportunity, as you can see in game hints of many features, story lines which have apparently been cut on release.

I like many believed that CDPR could if not delivar some of what they promised that they would atleast make a compelling game. The actual game devs who were involved clearly tried their hardest to bring to fruition what was constantly sold to the consumer by the marketing team, but no matter how much they tried the failed management and pressure of people who invested in this project shines through almost every aspect of this game. The story is lack luster and makes this game feel like they failed to understand that this is not a linear game but a "open world" (although that term lacks meaning with so much of this open world is dead, lifeless and [Open : Locked} doors) and the story needed to be paced better against the ability to go prat about doing anything else. Which brings us to the next point that other then shooting people there are NO other activities. This shows once again how much pressure the devs teams were under with mismanaged time. The characters you interect with (for very short quest lines) are marmite. Some people will love all, some will only like a few and others will just find them boring and will have no interest in coming back. Crafting is pointless unless you want iconic weapons or clothing you like (and if you do just wait till level 50 or the max you are willing to grind to before making it). Clothing is poorly implemented. Cars pointless. No accessories or extras. If you like basic loot and shoot games with an ok story and are willing to drop whatever the game is priced at then i doubt you care about this review. If you are on the fence or are expecting a truly amazing game or story - pass on this till a very deep sale and check reviews you trust for new content. However personally I would tell you to not touch this game because no matter how much other people want to believe I highly doubt CDPR will rewrite the game from the ground up to bring anything they promised that was cut. Expect bug fixed with possible paid dlc only.

For the action FPS with RPG elements it is, it gets 4 stars. For the dissappointment of not being the RPG it was supposed to be, it gets 0 stars. That equals out to 2 stars in total. I know CDPR said the rumors of a "no mans sky"-like revive are false, but god i hope it isn't. This game could (should?) have been an absolute benchmark in the gaming industry. Instead it's a less customizable GTA in a cyberpunk world.

What a way to round out 2020, the year of disappointments, with the worst disappointment gaming has ever seen. Cyberpunk tries to be 3 or 4 other games and doesn't do any of them well. There's nothing uniquely Cyberpunk that is done well in this game. While the first playthrough is fun, you quickly realized how shallow the game is on the second. Ultra linear until the point of no return and none of the choices youve made matter. Dialogue is railroaded into usually only one real choice with the other options just filler. But okay, it's gotta be good on the action right? Wrong. Slow player movements and clunky enemy AI make these fights both boring and bad. Police AI I'd the worst I've seen in any video game and their spawning is just illogical. Customization options are subpar and the clothing is laughable. How are you going to promote all those kinds of styles before the game launched and then not be able to buy most of them. This game is such an embarrassment

This could be the best RPG I've ever played... if CDPR have fulfilled their promises but instead of that they decided to take all the trust they built over the Witcher 3 and use it against players and f*** us with corpo d***. All the proud I had for CDPR being Polish company turned into shame. Environment: 5/5, story: 3/5, gameplay 3/5, promised and then cut content: -5/5. I never pre-order games but at very last moment I decided to do that as I thought CDPR, after what they were saying, will deliver without any doubt. I was very wrong.
