i purchase the game for a good nostalgia trip and...Nope..the game crush on startup.. i search the gog foroums and i find that the only way to play the game is using the direct x 9 version which SUKCS because only the direct x10 version allows you to enjoy the very high setting for the graphics.. 2,5 stars because of the broken crysis.exe ... just follow the link below to get the CORRECT executables for crysis 64 bit. Then,copy and paste them in the bin32 and bin 64 folder. then you can play the game in direct x10 mode with graphics that are better than most nowadays games safe link for the GOOD executables: https://github.com/ccomrade/c1-launcher/releases your welcome.

I love Crysis. The game is still my favourite game, there are so many possibilities in this game. I purchased it 4 times. 1x Retail, 1x Steam, 1 Limited Retail and 1 time on GoG. The only one i could play without any problems was the GoG version. It comes fully patched, with x64 binarys and the world editor. I love this package. Thanks to GoG, for this Crysis version without DRM.

First thing first - this GOG version actually works! Got it on Steam a year ago on sale, didn't work to verify through Origin. Blows! This one don't need some stupid Origin launcher, but you have to use the .exe file in the GOG folder "CrysisLauncher" - DO NOT USE GOG GALAXY TO LAUNCH!! - it doesn't work. REVIEW As soon as I boot this game up I get a total nostalgia feeling. The menu screen, the music, AAAAGGHH!!! Awesome! The most overhyped game ever? You bet! Mostly regarded today as a glorified tech demo (bUt DoEs iT rUn crYSis?), Crysis is more than that. A unique stealth shooter with 100% dumb action and weird plot with North Korea as the bad guys combined with supernatural elements. Taking place in "the future" of August of 2020 is just an added bonus. For what it is - it's an open world stealth shooter, very reminiscent of Far Cry 3, but 5 years prior. Focus is on splosions, combat, different weapons as well as driving vehicles, boats, a tank and an airplane/helicopter thingy. Graphics? Yes they are awesome! A game that has stood the graphical test of time better than many other games up until at least 2012 (looking at you Fallout 3/New Vegas). Don't expect the best story in the world, but it is not bad! Good voice acting, sense of exploration and adventure, tons of action and you'll go at it from the start! This is an FPS cult classic that pushed boundaries and deserves to be played by everyone at least once.

It's no secret that this game is fantastic! No need for another review, there so many i agree with. It's a masterpeice. The only thing I've always been bummed about is the DRM, but this is now fixed! Awesome, now we just need Crysis 2 and 3 the be released DRM free. I would be willing to buy them again! (Crytek and EA ;))

The game was a blast in 07 and it still is in 25, though with EA basically abandoning the series it does have some headaches for modern systems and i unfortunate have to take a star off for that. To be noted that as of 3/13/2025 that you will need to apply a fan made exe file to play the game on windows 11/10, albeit a slight pain it's really easy to do. ----------------------v-How to get the game going-v----------------------------------- Simply google "Crysis 1 launcher" and go to the github link that has "releases" in the name and download the zip you need. After that unzip the file then go to the root file of Crysis. [right click the shortcut and hit "Open file location"] Once in there go into the "bin64" file and drag everything in c1launcher folder to it, allowing it to override any files. after that make a new shortcut with the new exe and place on your desktop. You should be good to go after that to enjoy the game!
