Not a remaster as advertised!

I advise NOT to buy, at least for now. Im a Commandos fan so i bought this straight away but if this is a remaster/HD version then I'm a Super Saiyan. Let's dive in: - instead of doing a remaster they just upscaled the background (looks nice, i admit) but changed the FOV and zoomed in so it works on widescreen. you cant zoom out though at all and that function was essential for gameplay and planning. game still looks blurry - game runs bad due to bugs: some crashes, problems with passing the tutorial due to wonky animations of new models and sometimes not-working controls (restarted 6 times to try to climb a pole) - the UI is barely touched and still uses archaic schemes (barely any effort) - no coop (which the previous one had) - gore censored - nazi iconography completely removed (doesnt feel im playing a WW2 game anymore) which is absolutely insulting and disrespectfull to history. i say that as a Polish person. All in all this feels like a big cashgrab. Dont let nostalgia get a hold of you like it did me and just get a free HD version/mod which exists for both commandos games and works and looks much better. Had high hopes for this. A big disapointment.

No thanks, I'll pass on that

I was really looking forward for this, because I love the original Commandos 2. I really hoped this would be a faithful remaster, optimized for modern hardware with new high-res textures and so on. I won't buy the game because of the stupid censorships as this takes a lot of its authencity and simply looks stupid. I can understand that they removed the swastikas as this is published by a german company, but still WHY remove the japanese insignia from the planes? Last year the german government allowed Nazi insignia to be shown in video games for the very first time. Wolfenstein has been released with all symbols intact. So, again, why not Commandos 2??? I'm polish myself and I'm old enough and educated enough to know the difference between cruel history of the 3rd Reich and a game which is for entertainment. There is no glorification of the Nazi regime by trying to replicate that time period in a game for authenticity. It's the same like in Sudden Strike 4 there is the so called "Balkenkreuz" instead of swastikas. This is not authentic and at least for me ruins the fun. They are using the "Reichskriegsflagge" with a "Balkenkreuz" inside for the german campaign. Such thing never existed. Me too will try the HD mod being available for some time now and simply play the original, which still I have lying around.

Disappointment...

here some little problems: - u canot point the minimap and go where u want - when u choose hero the camera go to him right away - training camp 2- the sniper from the window cant seen (u can kill him only from inside) - the zoom out is bad - the censored ofcourse... - no coop??!! - u cant see bodies with F10 like before - with veihcles it so buggy - u cant see hides with F10 like before - when u want to move items between heroes and u want only magazine (for example) and not the weapon, u need to use Shift but it not working and sometimes make the items stuck and u cant touched theme - the climbing sometimes buggy - there is some secoondary missions that are not checked with V after u finish theme - the games is laggy sometimes - the menu - maybe its just me, i prefer the previous one - and some problems with the sound... - all this and i only played the first two training missions and "night of the wolves" - one last thing... for what the hell- the unnecessary launcher ???!!

Thank you all for the warning

As it looks there has been massive censorship, sometimes even nonsensical one (like the Japanese symbolism). One can discuss about regional laws and restrictions - but shouldn't this game then be available somewhere else without restrictions? Anyways, I totally agree that this behavior should not be supported. And there is no need. Get the old original games and get the HD mods some tireless fans where working on (search for "Commandos HDproject"). For the ones that have already boughhtit: there is talk taht you may be able to turn censorship off. I don't know, if that really works. You may wanna try: 1.) Go into Users\YOURCOMPUTERNAMEHERE\AppData\LocalLow\Kalypso Media Group GmbH\Commandos 2 HD Remaster 2.) Open COMM2.CFG with a text editor and change NOVIOLETAS from 0 to 1
