another must have game on only on gog
Before we begin i have no nostalgic ties to this series. but I have always wanted to give it a go and thanks to gog i now can. The complete catacombs complete pack give you 4 fps games under the catacombs brand as well as a 2 top down versions and a dangerouse dave game. The basic game play is you walk around a dungeon picking up potions power up and tresure. To defeat your enemy you have quick fire balls you can mash out or hold down for a more deadly fire ball, these are not your only means of destroying your foes you have nukes and you can make them taste your lightning .You can also use your attack to break walls and find secrets. The usere interface is plain its not a bad thing but do you rember in DOOM and wolfenstein your face gets messed up well in catacombs you lose all your flesh and become a skeleton unless you heal your self that i think is a cool feature. thats prety much it apart from one track playing constanly that fits the game very well (only in catacombs 3d games) overall this game you get alot for the £4.75 price tag but i got it on sale for just over £1 but it is a must have for the vintage gamer intrested in the fps history and every adult man or woman who wants to relive the nostalgia of being there younger selfs again.
