Not a tycoon

I got this game as a gift from my parents quite a while ago when our family just bought a computer, and well i wanted to try a strategy game, and my parents bought Capitalism 2, and what a game that was.. well first, very complex, sure it has tutorial, and a good one, but you will have to sit some time reading and learning how to play, but when you'll finish i think you won't be disappointed especially if you are interested in economics or want something more serious than a common tycoon game. Now it is quite old and graphics aren't good at all judging by modern standards, but it is only game i know which you can really call a real business simulation game.

Best way to be rich

The best way I earned money is to buy stocks. That way over time, their stocks goes up, yours will skyrocket up. I had shares going for about $15 million dollars. the companies I was investing in only had shares at about $5,000. But doing it this way is a slow process and in the end I was a multi-trillionaire.

Immer noch eins meiner Lieblingsspiele !

Wenn man es allerdings heutzutage auf Windows 10 21H2 spielen möchte, sollte man in seinem eigenen "Benutzerordner\Dokumente" den Ordner "My Games" sichtbar machen, sonst kann das Spiel die "CONFIG.DAT" Datei nicht speichern und stürzt einfach ab, nachdem in den "Optionen" etwas verändert wurde ! Neuerdings sind nämlich ALLE enthaltenen Ordner dort "Versteckt" ... Anschließend kann man das Spiel dann, wie gewohnt, spielen und genießen ;-)) Und für Neueinsteiger : > Eine prima Wirtschaftsimulation, die ihres Gleichen sucht - mit Börse und mannigfaltigen Funktionsmodulen, die man selber entwerfen und optimieren kann, damit sie noch besser laufen !

It's alright for a game, but cluncky

I find the controlls clunky. It's a good business simulator, but I find understanding what the UI is trying to display a little difficult to understand and clicking on various buttons sometimes does nothing. Then clicking on it multiple times can cause unintended issues that become frustrating. If I didn't find it so painful to set various buildings, I might actually enjoy the game.

Great All-'Round Business Sim

I played Capitalism Plus and Capitalism 2 when they first came out. I spent countless hours developing strategies and building businesses. It's rather simplistic in a way (compared to real life), but it provides a great touch-point to all the business basics: supply and demand, price versus quality, brand building and recognition, supply chains, vertical versus horizontal integration, etc. It truly is an amazing work from so long ago. A bit cheesy looking now, the guts of the sim are still grade-A solid. In-game you get a prompt to buy Capitalism Lab which is the upgraded / updated version of this game by the same producers. I looked at it. It's the same game with a graphics refinement and some added features. Additionally, it supports mods and has some DLC. I may upgrade at some point. If you have a strong entrepreneur itch you want to scratch, this would definitely be your cup of tea!
