Great game, bad port.
Disclaimer: This isn't the fault of the GoG team at all. Believe it or not, crappy ports of games to other platforms has been happening with video games for years. It's not a recent trend, and Cannon Fodder 1's DOS port is a prime example. The problem with the DOS version of this game is that runs substantially faster than it does on the Amiga. Remember that the original Amiga 500 had a 7mhz processor. You might be wondering why that is so important. Well, you'll quickly find in levels that you need inhuman mouse reflexes of a Korean StarCraft champion to dodge enemy fire. Just because it runs at a smoother framerate doesn't make it a better game. In fact, it ramps the difficulty up to the point where some levels are unwinnable. My other (minor) grief is that the music on this port uses Roland/AdLib and it sounds terrible. Trust me - get an Amiga emulator and play it on there instead.
Hilft dir das weiter?
