Bulb Boy

A really great game with an interesting cute/creepy art style and fitting music and sound! The puzzles aren't too difficult in the beginning but they get harder towards the end, and there's also an in-game hint system if you get stuck. When you have completed the game you can replay any of the chapters you want :) I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the game-breaking bug: the disappearing snail. If the game saves after, then you have to restart the game, it's annoying even though it doesn't take that long since the game only takes a couple of hours or three. Here's how to avoid the bug: Keep the save location folder open during gameplay and ALT+TAB out and make backups now and again. Most important: When you get to a big creature when you are in the water, make a backup right away. That's where you'll find the snail. If you know you picked it up but it's not in your inventory, use the backup save :)

If the visual style appeals to you, then this game is probably for you. I would consider it more of a sequence of espace rooms rather than a point & click adventure. Having said that, there is plenty of variation in the puzzles. Nothing that will make your brain hurt, but not too obvious either. There are a few action sequences, too. Don't expect a plot, just some absurdity, and you should have a good time.

Woderfull for begginers, and a piece of art for the veterans!

Bulb Boy is a puzzle game with puzzles that aren't that difficult, with a unique look that isn't very scary - just weird. Looking at it, it seems like a baby's version of a nightmare. It isn't long enough to become annoying, nor short enough to feel cheap, and although simple puzzle games with weird visuals are a dime a dozen, the puzzles in Bulb Boy are logical enough for the experience to not become annoying. It does become more difficult later on as you start encountering timed puzzles, and puzzles get repeated several times during the game's version of a boss battle, but not difficult enough to rage quit. The character is also fairly interesting, and although it's round, light-emitting head is used in some puzzles, he feels underutilized. It would have been nice seeing him used in more unique puzzles. A decent time waster.

There are many genres of horror: body horror, comedy horror, splatterpunk, slasher but have you ever heard about cute horror? Bulb Boy is first of its kind and you should try it!
