Gameplay
Bright Memory: Infinite combines the FPS and action genres to deliver a high-octane experience. Mix and match available skills and abilities to unleash magnificient combos on your enemies. Your trusted sword allows you to slash through crowds of enemies and even repel their gunfire. The guns you come across in-game can be customized with a variety of ammunitions. Choose between incendiary bombs, sticky grenades, homing missiles, and more to suit your situation.

Created by FYQD-Studio, Bright Memory: Infinite is the sequel to the popular Bright Memory. However, the sequel features an all-new world, along with newly created improved battle system and level design.
Developer Comment
For Bright Memory: Infinite, I wanted to focus on adding content to give players a more satisfying experience. As a result, development took three times as long as Bright Memory. This process allowed me to learn how to create a strong game while dealing with time and financial constraints. I spent a lot of time thinking of ways to maximize whatever technology and resources available to me in order to deliver an unforgettable experience through the game. As such, Bright Memory: Infinite represents the culmination of FYQD Studio's growth. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all my global partners and those who have provided technical support to me.

The game is quite short, but the gunfights (including the blade and gauntlet mechanics) are really smooth and fun (you encounter both ranged and melee enemies), navigation / movement is fluid, the visuals are crisp, music is nice and fitting. It really improved on the previous game in all the aspects.
Story itself is very action-movie streamlined with no chance to evolve. It's there more to support all the explosions and shooting. There are also a short stealth and a driving section but they didn't bother me. (At most the English VO really bothered me with how dead it was, so I had to switch to Chinese.)
I hope the dev gets an opportunity to create something more. This experience was worth it.
Overall, the game is between good and fine. Using the gun and skills are pretty much the highlight of the game. Graphics during gameplay also look very nice. The gameplay pretty much boils down to how fast you can beat the game with the fewest number of deaths. That is the whole gameplay loop. However, once you're outside the gameplay (i.e., cutscenes and home menu), that is where the game suffers.
In the home menu and in settings, the game is playing a cinematic that is fully rendered in real time. This is cool since you can see what graphic settings you choose will affect the graphics in real time. However, while changing my graphics settings, you can say that the graphics bugged out at certain times.
While in the cutscene, they are pretty much generic and "unrefined". When I say "unrefined", I mean that there is no smoothness. You can still see the shakiness that was present when mo-capping the animations. It's not that bad overall, but definitely something that stood out after watching so many cutscenes from other games.
Last, and the main reason why the game was mid, was the plot. The plot was non-existent. Overall, none of the questions I had were answered until the final fight. Even then, it was the stereotypical "change the world and I'll become the new ruler" motif with zero explanation to motive or backstory. After the credits, I had more questions than answers about the plot.
Even with all of the problems I have listed, this game is a pretty good "I'm bored and don't know what to play for the next few hours" type of game. Generic, but short enough to finish in one sitting when you want to play something fast.
