Breath of Fire IV
Beschreibung
In a far-away world, two continents float, separated by a vast swamp-land. For eons, no contact existed between the two continents because ships couldn’t sail across the expanse. At last, when the historic first contact was made between the two powers, war erupted!
After long and costly fighting between the Fou Empire in the west and an alliance of countries in the east, both sides exhausted all their strength and resources. With no other alternative, the two powers agreed to an armistice.
One year later, Princess Elina vanished. She had been traveling in the east from town to town, exploring battlegrounds and visiting war veterans. Her trail vanished in a small town near the front line. Nobody knew her whereabouts!
The Eastern Alliance wanted to avoid sending a large army to the front. Such a move would be a political blunder, breaking the armistice and stirring up hostilities. It became impossible to carry out a large-scale search for Elina. Time passed... with no sign of the princess.
Elina’s sister, Princess Nina, finally makes up her mind. She leaves on a journey in search of her sister – by herself.
Ryu
Ryu meets Nina while he is lying unconscious on a street in a desert town in the eastern continent. His race and native land are unknown. Ryu has a Dragon’s Eye, which empowers him with the amazing abilities to transform into a dragon and summon dragons.

Nina

A Wonderful Memory
I remember being completely hooked on this game and so was my older brother. It remains one of the most cherished memories from my past. So when I saw that GOG and CAPCOM had brought it back. I didn’t hesitate for a second. I grabbed it immediately. If you’ve never played Breath of Fire before, don’t worry about starting from IV. The plot isn’t connected to the earlier titles; it simply shares the overarching theme of dragons. This game shines for so many reasons: a deep and captivating storyline, engaging gameplay, and fun mini-games like the Faerie Village and fishing. Believe me—once you try it, you’ll fall in love with it.

GOG has caught the Whale!
Okay the title is a pun of one of the fishing mini-game's rarest catches, but GOG has really done gaming some justice by preserving BOF4. This was a great PC title at the time, and originally was only available at Abandonware websites without any fixes, patches, or workarounds for modern operating systems. If you like turn based JRPGs, then this one is one of the best outside of the Final Fantasy series, and guaranteed... You'll love it. So again, GOG... This isn't a Good old Game... This is a Great old Game.
