Blade Runner

You are a Blade Runner. It's a point and click adventure game with limited action sequences where with the mouse you can aim and shoot potential targets, IF you want to. Not only NPCs react differently and have different development depending on how you interact with them (also shooting them), but whenever you start a new game, you don't know who is a replicant (humanoid android) and how isn't. This way you have to do some proper good investigation to find out. It took many years for a licensed game to come out and at the time it could have been anything. A shooter most likely, or some 3D game of the sort that looked good in the late 90s and terrible 2 years later. But not this time. They made this a proper "detective" work, a proper Blade Runner work to go out, investigate and be a Blade Runner yourself. The game is great, both as a point and click adventure game and as a movie adaptation. If you love Blade Runner, this is a must. If you at least semi enjoy adventure games, this is a must. I have the original discs (the rest are long gone) when I bought the game the first time, then a couple of years ago I re-bought the physical version because I wanted to have the whole thing. As soon as I saw this version here, I bought it within a couple of minutes. One of the best games ever made.

This game is a wonderful gem. I played Blade Runner at least 10 times and everytime there was something new to see.

One of the most unique, best looking and ahead of its time adventures of the year back than by the terrific team of Westwood. I love you gog: Thanks for releasing this classic in a terrific shape (with multiple language options). Buy this.

I bought the CD version of this game back in (probably) 2000-2001 on Ebay. I am a HUGE fan of the original movie. This game captures the mood, music, and overall tone down to the little details. I am probably in the minority, but I love the original BR with the narration from Harrison Ford and this game gives us a little taste of that as well. Instead of following the story from the movie it gives us a new story, new characters, but never once feels like it isn't in the same universe. Nice touch to throw hints that Deckard is out there, still doing his job. This is a masterpiece. To this day, I own the 4 CD's I bought many years ago, but this is better. It runs flawlessly on a modern system. I waited on this release for years and grabbed it as soon as I saw it was available. Westwood Studios seriously created a work of art here. One of my favorite games of all time. They don't make them like this anymore.

If you're like me, and you missed this the first time around, and have always hankered to play it - it is an excellent recreation of the Blade Runner world, and a solid adventure game. And it looks and sounds great, over 20 years later. However, there are some peculiarities with the game, such as having to leave & re-enter a scene to find characters. And some of the branching narratives are clever, but not obvious - so you could find yourself stuck down a bad path. Save often, and keep multiple saves active. Despite some frustrations, it's still a great adventure game.
