Blade Runner

The Blade Runner aesthetic comes to life with the impressive pre-rendered backdrops and cut scenes. Your choices and actions drive the game to one of over a dozen endings. At first glance, the game seems like a simplified point and click adventure game. You cannot even use items like in other games; it's mostly a pixel hunt. But beyond that simplicity is a compelling story and a world that really pulls you in. The closet modern parallels would be games like Heavy Rain and Detroit from Quantic Dream. The style of gameplay works well for the detective main character. Be sure to save often - your character can be killed or arrested if you make mistakes!

The game ties-in and borrows much from the original movie while still remaining its own story in the Blade Runner universe; feels somewhat like a prequel. There are multiple endings, and the player could find themselves a replicant, a Blade Runner, or just a criminal on the lam; with or without a companion. Non-enhanced game ran fine on windows 10. Some parts of the game are a bit confusing where it's not apparent what one has to do to progress and could result in wandering around the map locations clicking on everything to discover what has been missed; I had to consult a walkthrough a few times. Purchased the game when discounted in a weekend sale and clocked just under 17hours to see all 4 alternate endings.

If you like the movie, you'll love this classic. It has the same dark and gritty feel. Even a few cutscenes are straight from the movie, including the wonderful Vangelis soundtrack. Just like in the movie your character is a Blade Runner. Tasked with disovering and retiring Replicants. Depending on how you play the game, the outcome can be quite different. Bought this game when it was originally released, but now I'm happy that GOG has released it as well. It's now in my collection. For me it's a trip through memory lane, because it has been over 20 years since I've played it :)

Played this first time around when it came out. It blew me away and now +20 years later, it still does. A technical masterpiece which athmosphere still beats virtually all other games. Nice restored content mod is integrated with GOG version. How they pulled this out is an amazing feat. Do yourself a favor and buy it! Masterpiece.

When the game was released, the graphics were some of the best, it still looks great. It runs great even on new hardware. The game perfectly catches the spirit of the Blade Runner film. It is extremly atmospheric, some cinematics are the same like in the movie. By using different dialogs you can change the story. +Very interesting story and characters +falsly calibrating the Voight-Kampft Test to get people in jail or worse +different locations, apartment, crime scene +Hide information from the police department +20+ endings, hidden secrets, analyze pictures, people can become ally or foe -some underground levels can be difficult or annoying
